Thanks for that. Doesn't seem a lot, but then again I am surprised at how low some other artists are.

I guess it also gives an indication how many shows on a tour to put on, for example no point in putting on a Manchester show in another 1000+ venue, if total sales for the whole UK barley exceed 3000..

Yeah. I wonder if that is much or not and what his own expectations are.

Richie's playing in front of about 2.500 people in Holland, but I seriously doubt he's sold 2.500 copies of the new album over here. Just like when Bon Jovi plays a show in London there's no chance 80.000 people bought the album they're promoting. It's mostly about percentages I reckon. If 10% of the audience has bought the latest record that's enough, others are just visiting the show based upon the name Bon Jovi has, just like people go see Richie because they know him from Bon Jovi.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

It's still an indication though is what I am saying. If the album sold 10,000 here you can bet there would be more than one small London show.

And Bon Jovi as a brand and regular touring act is a lot different and easier to market anyway.

Actually a positive review on a dutch news website: Thanks to google translate.

Richie Sambora - Aftermath Of The Lowdown
Where the solo albums of Jon Bon Jovi never far removed from what he does with his famous band, even before he founded, dares guitarist Richie Sambora is of the beaten path to deviate.

It has taken a long time before Sambora again on their own a record released. A fifteen years to be exact. In February 1998 his second album, Undiscovered Soul, almost seven years after his solo debut Stranger In This Town. Allen recognized in the periods that Bon Jovi was silent.
It shows the tremendous dedication of the guitarist for his band, actually a company run by its namesake, and which is secondary therefore nearly impossible. But this album had to come, after a difficult period in the life of Sambora, with a divorce, the death of his father and then an alcohol addiction.
Sambora wrote the misery from her, but could not lose by Bon Jovi. The result is Aftermath Of The Lowdown, the most personal writings from Sambora's career contains. He draws on his painful experiences and know who to turn to strong rock songs, as we have a decade not have heard of his band.
vitriolic
Moreover retrieves Sambora on Aftermath Of The Lowdown another huge chunk of hard rock stable, where old fans of the band from New Jersey have long to wait. But even nu-metal and Coldplay esque piano rock find their way on this album and unbecoming far between Sambora's vicious guitar work.
Three beautiful rock ballads (You Can Only Get So High, Seven Years Gone and the beautiful I'll Always Walk Beside You) sound accessible, but may contain Sambora's most introverted lyrics ever. Apart from the sometimes annoying processed vocals, a career peak for the musician. And a hundred times better than the last Bon Jovi.

That indeed is a good review especially when you know what the source is. Normally their reviews about music-related subjects are crap but this time they managed to write a decent one.

I salute you,
TS

This one's clearly written by a biased fan, far from objective. A review that says "it's a 100 times better than any Bon Jovi effort" is quite a cheap shot to the band and are no words a professional writer ought to use. It's still a better review than most of the crap that's posted on this Dutch news site but it really depends a lot on who writes what article over there. If they're a fan of said artist an album always gets a higher rating, which is why I stopped valuing their opinion on anything.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan
