Richie Solo Album: "Aftermath Of The Lowdown" - September 18th Release Date

I think you're reading into to it too much. If you look at the questions Richie has chosen to answer on twitter and the way he's gone about it I think it's plain to see that he's entirely disinterested with twitter and is doing it because Luke or someone thinks it's a good idea to promote the album. I think he's answered that because he can't be arsed discussing his artistic direction to what, i imagine, he sees as a mindless demographic. Look at the vast majority of the tweets he's responded to ("we love you in Sweden!" - "i love sweden too" etc.), it's just mindless drivel.

I don't use Twitter as it has always seemed a bit pish to me so I haven't see his other comments.

However, you can only go with the information at hand so if he's not sounding pumped about it in response to this and other questions he's being asked, and also claiming it's a mixed bag of a record (which is what he implied), you can't go away thinking it's going to be the awesome album we've all been waiting for.

We all know Richie sucks at interacting online with his fans but if he really is giving uninspired and unenthusiastic responses to the odd question he chooses to answer, why would anybody buy into it?

The passion you would anticipate he is putting into the record isn't evident in his discussions about it. I'd have hoped you wouldn't be able to shut him up about it considering he's been wanting to do another one for so long!

I see what you're getting at. If it's going to be a mixed bag of genres, it'd be strange for him to flat out admit it. It's so sad that that is what I'm thinking. How many times have we heard him say "This is the most amount of fun we've had in the studio since Slippery".

You do have to wonder where the WTB stuff fits in to this...regardless of how people feel about the songs, time has gone into making them, surely it cant be for nothing. "How To Love" for example, will it ever see the light of day? Surely not on this album?!

This sounds pretty cool. I really want to hear this song in full, it sounds like the solo doesn't fit in the context of the song but I'm not going to judge it based on the 1 minute you hear. It's DIFFERENT.
