Sorry for bringing that up again. Can anyone check the lyrics to Livin' Alone? This is what I have put together from a few sources. Still don't know about that think/drink line.

Quote:
Livin’ alone, you got no one to lean on,
When you lay down to sleep,
no one to come home to.
You close your eyes,
there ain’t no one to dream on
All the hope that you keep
keeps on turning to blues.

Chorus Ia
When you’re livin’ alone, you’re out on your own
There ain’t no one to hold on to
Someone to hold your heart,
while you’re breaking in some brand-new blues.
Now you’re livin’ alone.

Drink/Think to yourself: “Is anybody out there?”
‘Cause nobody answers, ‘cause nobody cares
All you got is a phone,
and your favorite belongings
Just pictures in frames of your favorite regrets.

Chorus Ib
When you’re livin’ alone, you’re out on your own
There ain’t no one to come home to
Ain’t no pretending
there’s no happy ending… for you.

Chorus II
Everybody needs somebody,
everybody wants someone
Don’t wanna find yourself alone someday
Every heart needs a home.
Everybody needs somebody,
everybody needs someone
Don’t wanna find yourself alone someday
Every heart needs a home,
You’re livin’ alone.

Solo

Chorus Ic
Someone to understand,
someone to hold your hand,
While you’re breaking in a brand-new broken heart.
You’re wishing for heaven as only love can do.

Chorus Ia

Chorus II

Livin’ alone, livin’ alone, livin’ alone
Not alone.
You’re not alone, you’re not alone,
Not alone
Thanks.

When I'm done with this one, STWML will be another tough nut to crack.

Thanks. It also makes sense

Once I read "drink" somewhere I couldn't unhear it.

Do you think the rest is correct, too?

I think it should be "soothe you soul"

I really like the lyrics. They're difficult to interpret to my language because of all the allusions which sometimes are just listed song titles and sometimes the words work within the song.

What does Boom Boom probably refer to? And who was Silvio? Not familiar to me and google results are not satisfactory.
I didn't know that Here, There and Everywhere is a Beatles song I thought the just named the 1995 tour like this.
Even Lah-di-dah is a song.. question is if he meant it and it cleverly works or it's just a coincidence.

Boom Boom is a John Lee Hooker song - pretty sure he's referring to that

My best guess is that Silvio might refer to Little Steven Van Zandt. He played a character named Silvio in "The Sopranos" and I think it might be an inside reference to that. If not, I have no idea.

I agree it might be "soothe". It has sounded, at various times, like it could be see/free/seize/soothe... Take your pick!

"Soothe your soul" seems like an obvious reference to lyrics of the song "Old time rock and roll".

Boom Boom is also famous because of the version by The Animals, so there is certainly a reference there.

If I only knew if the verse that sounds like Dylan and Moses is correct. Other references were easy to spot so I am really in doubt. First heard that as "dealing emotions", but I don't really know.
