There's no such thing as "playing to strengths". They just recorded it in a lower (and vocally more comfortable) key.

listening to ktf nice solos...thnx for sharing...

there is truth to playing to your strengths...when all your career you have learnt to express yourself in a certain way, making dynamic performances its harder to find great melodies all of sudden without reinvending yourself.

Thanks Rdkopper!! Listening to bits and pieces atm.

The first verse of Wanted is such a shout fest but at least Jon is going for it all the way and not trying to dodge/lower any notes.

Bad Medicine sounds about the same as the 4 THINFS shows. So the improvement in Jon's vocals is still VERY incremental.

And the high notes before the Prayer solo are totally playbacked (with Jon shouting on top of it) just like during the 2015 mini tour. I wouldn't be shocked if they do this during other more prominent higher parts (e.g. Bad Name hook).

Speaking of Bad Name, Jon actually tried to go high during "and you PLAY your game" part - first time since '08? The result was as expected, however.

You have not captured the digital stream itself. You soundcard has converted it to analog sound and then recorded that sound. If you listen to KTF on YouTube you will hear that it is much cleaner.

KTF should be performed with power and precision. This sounds like a garage band. Jon's voice has zero power. The bongos don't fit, Phil X doesn't play the solo correctly and it ends with more weak soloing.

If this is the standard fans are accepting these days then it's a sad day for rock music.
