Before, it was leading single, then album, then rest of singles depending on the success of the album itself.

But now, for example Dua Lipa had 3 singles, and Pearl Jam also had more than one. 4 is more, yes, but you could even make 8 or whatever, it doesn't matter, as long as the album is out finally.
You're right, but the difference is that all of those singles were released to promote the album that they came from, each one was pushing pre-orders, pre-saves etc for the album. At this point the Sambora singles are promoting nothing!

Album singles are released a few months apart, usually accompanied with a music video or a lyric videos. That's really not what this is. Releasing 4 songs back-to-back-to-back and then selling them all a second time and getting people to buy them all over again feels odd. Thinny is bang on, RSO did the method of two EPs and then selling an album with both EPS together and a few new tracks and no one is going to buy both when it comes to digital.

That actually happens a lot (and I mean a. lot.) here in Brazil!

The artist releases 3 or 4 EPs, sometimes with only one single to all of them, and then release the full album with extra tracks.

I think Richie is just testing the waters in streaming. If he gets a certain number of views, he will take one path, and if not, he will take another. Maybe he's figuring out how to best release the album.

I would like Richie to release the album digitally and streaming the same week as Bon Jovi Forever. Since it would be a very smart strategy. All the fans would listen to his new songs out of curiosity, but if he does it too late, he won't have that push.

Thinny has a point in a sense that really no album has been mentioned. Personally, I don't see an album out, this is kind of last chance of any media exposure for Richie's solo work, as he missed couple of previous opportunities.
So he's putting random (best?) 4 songs he has kind of finished (IMO obviously).

But if there was an album coming, I would also honestly say that good PR strategy would consist of something similar as we see it: having 4 "singles" released a week apart (perfect scheduling in this day and age for an artist that has no hope of radio exposure, but just fanbase buzz). We all talk about it for a month at least, instead of few days.

However, no album due date is odd, and again, personally I think in Richie's case probably none scheduled. One could try and rationalize as the buzz of album talking can be beneficial, but probably not, with no pre-sale and date that gets remembered.

Whatever the case, I do like this week by week release. IN Richie's situation, perhaps best possible.

Another point is that labels look at Spotify plays and YouTube views when signing artists nowadays. Richie really has nothing current for his solo career that this can be compared with. So getting these tracks out the could show the labels that there is an interest (or not, depedning on the numbers he gets). That's why releasing them now is a good idea, when his name is all over the music press.

Edit: just comparing I Pray to Livin' Alone. I Pray is currently on 50,000 on Spotify and Livin' Alone 12,000 so interest is probably dying down a bit after the doc launch. And also Livin' Alone is relying on social media only. I Pray benefited from a press release. YouTube numbers are similar.

Richie looks absolutely terrible.

He's frail, I don't know wtf is going on with his hair, the white suit, and just looks so aged.

I don't get it. Guys like Nikki Sixx and Slach who both partied harder than anyone look good and healthy and Richie looks beaten.

Um, no, he looks great and healthy. for a 64 year old. Ignore the white suit (yes, it's terrible). Have a look at the other pics:

Also, you have no way of knowing that Sixx and Slash partied harder - they just did it more openly. They also cleaned up a long, long time ago. He also hasn't had shed loads of work done like Nikki Sixx and has his hair to hide behind like Slash.
