No it was in Mono again. Not sure why, but I'm pretty sure the original airing was stereo?

I've raised a question with both Sirius XM and BJM to try and understand why it's gone back to Mono.

Repeat of Milwaukee 2006 Parts 1 and 2 the last 2 weeks. These were aired in Stereo.

Edit, also confirming all shows have been aired in Dual Mono since Boston 2005. Still waiting for an answer and will check if Milwaukee is aired in Mono, as the previous was definitely in stereo.

Default Question about the best way to record the shows.
Question for the brains trust.

When the shows are aired in Mono, are you better to capture the source in Stereo or Mono?

The app I use on my phone automatically takes the mono stream and duplicates to provide a stereo recording. The app I previously used only recorded in Mono and then I would manually have to duplicate the recording in Audacity to get a "Stereo" recording.

I'm not sure if recording a mono recording in stereo is resulting in losses as it tries to make a stereo output. Any thoughts?

E.g. Johannesburg 1995 was aired in mono and I recorded in Mono and it sounds decent. However Boston 2005 was aired in mono but recorded in Stereo and doesn't sound as clear. This could be just the mix of course.

For the next new show, if in mono, I'll do a test to see what sounds better.

I doubt it makes any difference in all honestly - recording mono in stereo will likely just duplicate the mono track.

No-one knows yet - they rarely announce them in advance anymore.
