I don't know what to think about this, on the one hand I'm glad to see a show that I don't know, but seeing the setlist so short... and probably Obie will take out the scissors again to cut this even more... sigh.

Hey Obie, it's not that hard, put on a show from The Circle Tour that hasn't been heard before. Sydney 2010-12-19 (third night) for example.

But it IS that hard. It doesn't matter what they do, we won't be happy. The cries were to get something unreleased publicly. I get everyone having their favourite era and wanting more material buuuuut....this is what people asked for.

The bright side is it feels like the cuts have been made to fit a certain time length of show (anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) if a show is already the desired length I don't see it getting cut down.

A show from 2000 with 8 vanilla hits are not really what die hards are looking for.

I agree in part. The only thing that annoys me is that they always brag that they have a bunch of stuff didn't even know they had and blah blah blah.... then he put Audios from DVD releases and FM broadcasts of the usual bootlegs.

But you're right. Let's see what happens on Friday, I have never heard this show, so I don't know if it has a good performance or if we are facing another generic show. My attention on this.

Or the next possibility is that they are lying to us all the time and they don't have anything special in their archives 'cause they don't give a f*ck about that during the whole career of Bon Jovi and now they realize that it was a big mistake.

I think it's legal, costly, or they are held to certain time constraints.

Just like those hand picked artists by Jon... It's definitely part of the promo needed for them to continue the channel... It has nothing to do with Jon wanting us to hear his favorite songs.

Maybe once a month they can extend an hour otherwise they need to keep it within.
Die Hards want a 3 hour live rare concert, casual fans just want the hits and live concerts mean nothing to them.

Maybe there is a certain quality and mix that needs to happen and it's not worth the money.

Maybe they don't need to pay as much in royalties for previously released material

Maybe they are saving all the fan shows for the box set promotion.

There are so probably so many layers to all this... but, they really are just checking boxes each week and we aren't getting anything truly worthy.

Great another live version of You Give Love A Bad Name... Can't wait to hear that tomorrow night!!!

That's what I'm thinking by now.
They may have a vault of studio recordings (--> Box Set) but I don't think there are many live recordings which weren't already released or broadcasted anywhere else.

I can understand that they might have a hard time releasing something from 1987 or something like that, but there is no excuse for shows after 2000. They released things like MSG 2008, Atlantic City 2003 or Metlife 2013 ... is lazy. They could have released any show from these tours.

I think they have a lot of recordings of each tour. Perhaps the problem is that most of these recordings were not recorded for a professional release - and have a predetermined mix, with its flaws and limitations. The few recordings that they could mix, may cost money that they are not willing to spend. Is fun, because they release it in mono for radio streaming and then include it on JBJ Experience in an upload in mp4. So it wouldn't matter too much.

Jon mentioned a commemorative digital archive, and a box set (with unreleased songs) that would be released in physical format with several DVDs and all that. Maybe that commemorative archive is what we're hoping for, my hope is that maybe they'll do a limited version of LiveMetallica or the vault releases of Pearl Jam. but...

Honestly, seeing what they're doing with these shows on Sirius and their lousy choices, I'd rather they focus on unrelased studio songs. I think that will have more value for us.

I think our hopes are too high. A lot of the time our hope comes from something Jon off-handedly says or an idea of a plan, we snowball that into something massive we want to see and slag them off when it doesn't hit our own expectations. I want to be hopeful and stop repeating "these projects just aren't for our type of diehard" but with every re-release of audio from a publicly sold DVD it's just getting beaten down again and again.

I still doubt there's a way to turn a profit from our side of the fan base compared to cheap products with little overhead. There are maybe ten shows that have come up as the dream get and nothing else will live up to it because we have access to most everything else bootleg wise.

i think that the band could make a profit from certain gem shows and find a platform to sell to us...i d pay a lot to see more footage from the past.

I think jon is not right on this one. he could make money and also invest on the bands legacy by working and releasing certain live shows..

The Wembley 95 is an example, they decided almost last minute to tape it..they paid a huge amount and recorded sth in analogue, sth that did them justice and showed them as legends.. they couldnot reach that lvl of perfection but they could release quality material..
