Thanks for posting. A bit boring and uninspiring.

Thanks Rolo. Huge time saver.

I agree with the majority. Jon managed to suck the boring out of a pivotal album. I was waiting for him to throw in a Soul Kitchen plug somehow. "And this socially conscious album had me dream up a community restaurant".

Nothing about Bob Rock or the recording process.

i think it was ok! not sth i would listen again but not bad either..
he should include info about the recording techniques and studio stuff... jon thinks we only care about the lyrics and doesnt give enough credit to the musicians in the rercord..

Yeah, and lyrics (even on KTF which is one of the lyrically best albums) are not on the top of my list of liking Bon Jovi. There is so little content out there that discusses the music. Bon Jovi has iconic albums - at least to their fanbase - but we actually know very little about the making of them.

For example, I know that Bob Rock really pushed Metallica and there was a certain hatred of him early into the recording of The Black Album. Eventually, they came around to him. I want to know if Rock was willing to push Jon in such a way. But there is hardly any information about the recording of KTF outside of soundbites.

I think TD is a wonderfully produced album with the best musicality in the Bon Jovi catalogue. But we have zip about the recording process.

Being screwed over for content as a fanbase would be fine if the music was up to scratch. It hasn't been for too long. So, we get shit new music and nothing about the past.

I mean, Jon's gone on record saying he doesn't really like Woman In Love, or am I misremembering things? Seems understandable for him to go off on a tangent for the song, but seriously, the information is out there. He seems in politician/CEO mode mostly, not in artist mode.

Also it's so damn obvious he knows what he lost in Richie. He praised his playing, mentioned his input all the time. Good on Jon for acknowledging his role! But man.

Also I thought Dry County was about former oil drilling areas that ran dry and were now poor? Huh.

The fact that Jon had to sit down for 15 minutes to do that was probably 14 minutes too long for him.
