What a disappointing approach for a "deluxe" edition of one of the band's best albums.

I would easily spend that amount of money if it came with outtakes like they did with New Jersey. But the bonustracks they come up with this time are pretty pathetic when you realise whats still in the vault.

There are zero bonus tracks on the vinyl - so £94.99 just for the liquid...

Remember that deluxe edition GnR did for Appetite? Or the one Leppard did for Hysteria? Slippery should be getting that treatment at least!

Exactly!. Why are they not doing this? I still got hope something special will be released some day. I think they still have these plans because on the Backstage site a lot of Slippery outtakes and demo's are missing.

We all agree that, once again, this feels like a mockery. The album that catapulted them to the peak of success is being celebrated in this way. I own the "Super Deluxe" edition of Slip of the Tongue by Whitesnake which is the perfect example of what a Deluxe version mean. Check it out on Amazon if you're interested. This album deserved a 3-CD + DVD edition, or at the very least a 2-CD release similar to New Jersey. But this has truly left me speechless.

I suppose next year in the 40th anniversary so there could be plans for that, but why release this version now then? They should just wait until 2026 and do it properly. It makes no sense...

This is pretty cool by the way. The guy that did the artwork back then gives the story behind the album cover.

Yeah the Whitesnake deluxe editions are fantastic!

It’s quite amusing to think that the deluxe edition of Bon Jovi has more outtakes than Slippery When Wet. Coming soon: the 7800° Fahrenheit hyper-deluxe box set—4 CDs + Blu-ray!

Now seriously
I can’t recall which artist released their best album as a 2-CD + DVD set, where the first disc featured the original album, remixed and remastered, and the second disc contained the same tracks in rehearsal or outtake versions. No, it wasn’t Bon Jovi or Whitesnake.

The DVD featured the same songs but captured during their recording process, as if the entire final recording sessions had been filmed. Just to clarify: it was like having a video diary of the final stages of the album’s creation.
