The part where Jon strangles Doc (he's obviously kidding because Doc is laughing) but still cool because it's unseen.

I hope when Jon talks about leaving Bon Jovi, he's referring to the grey summer and actually gets into that.
That part with Jon and Doc was from the Bad Medicine video shoot special on MTV and shown and shown at the time

With a FOUR HOUR documentary, expecting it to not have recycled footage is beyond unrealistic expectation.

They're never going to cater to the 5% freak fanbase that scours youtube and has encyolopedic knowledge of what b-side stemmed from a radio broadcast (us). Just buckle in and enjoy it.

I seem to remember Jon said something about burnout and sick of being around each other after two huge albums and two long tours with no break. He thought in hindsight they should of taken a break after the Slippery tour and should not have headed right back into the studio and follow it up with another long tour. I could understand it.

Also I think Jon was having issues with music industry itself, and why he took control of things starting with Keep The Faith.

I thought I also heard something about Richie being jealous of Jon getting all the credit when he helped write those ****in' songs.

Sure, so could I. Unless you look into their history and you find out it was Jon who ultimately signed off on all those shows against everybody's wishes and then did the exact same once Keep the Faith was released. The difference was however that it was Jon who got a bigger pay.

From October 1988 to February 1990 the band played roughly 240 shows.

From October 1992 to December 1993 the band played roughly 200 shows.

But sure, it was the 40 shows in those 2 extra months that killed them.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

The burnout after NJ was more because of the back-to-back tours with SWW and NJ, not the latter alone.
In fact, 1993 had the most shows and the tightest schedule within one year, with more shows than in 1989.

Had to crawl out of the woodwork lol

Even my name doesn't make sense anymore as I moved to the Greek island of rhodes this year 🤣

Looking forward to the documentary hoping for some new stuff we haven't seen,I'm sure there'll be alot we've seen already but us die hards know the most of the story already its like a book that's made into a movie lol

Hoping they'll release some more stuff on the backstage site soon though

- Jon talking in catchphrases and pseudo intellectual nonsense.
- Richie being "the funny guy" in the trailer.
- Delusional nonsense (if you work hard you can make it).
- Really formulic and bland.
- Apparantly you need Bruce Springsteen to sell a serious side of Bon Jovi.

So, pretty much the Bon Jovi band of the last decade. So far there's nothing in there we didn't know nor will there be much the general public will be interested in.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan
Have you ever liked this band? Never seen any word of positivity on all the years I’ve been on this site!🙄

Well, the site didn't exist in 1996

Claiming that Bon Jovi the band, which released two albums in the 90s, had just as hectic a schedule as in the 80s (4 albums plus tours in 6 years) is kind of silly, but par for the course at this point

well he did say in hindsight if that is true.

stands to reason, wasn't it at this point Jon became CEO and put everybody else in the band on salary?

there was a much needed extended break between the Jersey tour and the Faith tour. The fact that the Jersey tour was 40 shows longer, with the only break from the road after the long Slippery tour being to record New Jersey is crazy.

"Unreleased early demos", certainly did not expect that.

“Thank you, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story” joins the band in February 2022 and follows their real time journey with its fits and starts as they attempt to chart out their future. As thrilling as the story of a once-in-a-lifetime talent is, it is even more rare that a legend like Jon Bon Jovi lets the world into his most vulnerable moments, while he’s still living them. 40 years of personal videos, unreleased early demos, original lyrics, and never-before-seen photos that chronicle the journey from Jersey Shore Clubs to the biggest stages on the planet. The series relives the triumphs and setbacks, greatest hits, biggest disappointments, and most public moments of friction.
