I think also Guardian review was very good, from similar perspective.
Like, your heyday is long-gone, but can you still find meaning in being the best version possible.

It also works as a chronicle of a singer's fight to recapture not only the glory days but also his instrument, and some ways his dignity. I don't think we have ever seen such a documentation from a major artist before. It reminds me of Some Kind of Monster in how much Jon was willing to put himself out there.
Ironically, it makes the sanitized history of the band part of the documentary even more baffling. My feeling on that is that the Bon Jovi story is simply a little boring, a bit safe, and does not have much to say.
It would be a better documentary if it just charted Jon in the recent past and present struggling with his voice. 1 hour or 1.5 hours long and no history of the band. Not appealing to as wide an audience, of course.
