I really don't want to drag this out... but there is a difference on giving your opinion and constantly questioning the opinions of others. If you go back through the very short list of the posts I've made on here, I have never had to 'quote' anyone until you came along mate! I just give my opinion on a topic, you seemed to want to take everything I said and deconstruct it, while actually agreeing with my basic point about a GH spanning their whole career!!

Anyway, let's take this offline before people start nodding off... PM me if you feel any of my opinions need re-aligning... but seriously fella, let's just agree to disagree and move the f*ck along eh?

I have no quarrel with you personally; I was merely using what you said - as your opinion seems similar to others here, yet better put - to give my own opinions, since they contradict yours, and those of other people here. I meant no offence and certainly didn't mean to be targetting you in any way.

No harm done mate... let's hug it out! Just read back through my posts and I am a compulsive swearer, which doesn't help, so apologies for that.

We all want the same thing in the end; Obie to stop screwing around and get some dates up on the board! Let's get the f*cker fired (Sh*t sorry... oh bollocks... ah did it again, f*ck it).

Don't worry about swearing - the only word which gets filtered now is f.u.c.k, but there's only one person on the board at all who specifically doesn't like swearing; the rest of us don't give a flying **** A word is just a word, afterall; and the more we use them, the less sensational they become, to a point where no one word is any more 'shocking' than any other - as it should be.

And I'm sure that Obie could be more helpful, but I'd bet that the record company has more of a say in the timetable of releases, and even so far as to say when information about them can be released. All we can do is wait.

To respond to a lot of the opinions expressed in this thread (Obviously just with my own opinions)

- I still maintain that arguing whether a '95-'08 GH is a good idea is a moot point, because there is NO WAY that's coming out IMHO. I don't see any way that the release isn't "25th Anniversary Career Retrospective" and I'd still put my money on a Double Disc set of hits. Like a million other bands before, the double disc set would take over as the main hits collection for Bon Jovi, and Cross Road would become the bare bones economic collection.

- I have no problem with the band releasing a GH record. Honestly, for a band as commercial as they are, Bon Jovi have truly not whored out their legacy from a market standpoint, especially when compared to bands looked at as their peers. They've only released one real GH in CR, no video DVD, no "cheap" compilations, only one live release etc. ****, I wish they'd release some of those things, namely better live records, but I digress. So to have a more comprehensive GH on the market would not be a bad thing. And TBH, Bon Jovi has already released the ultimate package for Die Hards in the Box Set.

-I actually think the release strategy, as it looks now, is a pretty good one. Basically it looks like have a "Bn Jovi Blitz" in October. The book, GH, The Documentary (whose DVD will probably include a live show imo) is maximum exposure for the band, and will pique the interest of the casual fans who know IML, Prayer, etc. All the while, I'm sure the band will be hyping the new record, which should get a huge sales boost from all of this.

Ugh....I'm in KISS mode. This isn't the time for a new Bon Jovi album. I may very well be too apathetic to give a shit due to timing. So far the titles I'm hearing aren't getting any blood flowing. John Shanks again.

I guess it's going to boil down to the lyrics and what the cringe level is.
