It IS weird that the guy who supposedly was the genius behind all the Bon Jovi hits, who got ****ed out of getting properly credited on those songs he wrote, that this guy writes less songs on his own per solo album than JBJ does per average band record and always has people to collaborate with. Then again, Bernie Taupin famously writes lyrics only; Luke Ebbin didn't get credited at all on the BJ records he did - these seem like unlikely choices if he really has trouble coming up with music on his own. So maybe he really needs the outside input? The structure of another person involved?

If this whole extended solo episode has proven one thing, it's that Richie works best when he's got someone who reels him in, gives him structure and he can bounce off. And you damn well know who I'm talking about. I'm not sure if Richie's learned to be the perfect sidekick and originally was all he claims in interviews to still be, but as of now, he has serious trouble pulling weight on his own.
A TON of valid points there. There's a handful of songs Richie has written flat out alone, maybe even less. It's tough to say how much Luke's songwriting involvement was on Aftermath. I think he definitely needs someone to bounce ideas off of.

I have NEVER understood why Richie fans want to claim he’s the genius behind Bon Jovi’s songs. Jon has written albums worth of material on his own. Richie has a collaborator on 99% of his writing credits.

Simple math tells you otherwise.

I’m not saying he’s not contributing, but his reputation has been inflated by people who apparently are not good with math.

Art is not math, though.

I agree with Becky... Jon can and has written songs (amazing songs) himself... I don't think Richie has one on a release... He uses an abundance of outside writers...

Logic is. And logic can be applied to situations where people are obviously deluded.

listened to the new ep from rso!!
thnx again rolo.
my first take on this...feels more organic, real drums and all, some leads etc...
there are some good melodies and hooks in there, i certainly like it more than the first ep, the song so far for me is take me though because of the lyrical context.
we are magic good idea okish 6/10
walk with me is a good song, catchy familiar melody 7/10 (the middle part drags the song for me
together on the outside i think the best song on the ep, even if i m not a fan of ori s voice 7,5/10
i dont want to have to need u naw 6/10 again nth new, i dont like the big explaining titles as well
making history 6,5/10 some nice guitar work bad lyrics imo

bob rock has proven himself but as a listener i cant help but feel that he should force them choose fewer genres and directions and make it more raw...
overall i ll listen to it because i m a fan of richie but it sound dated imo because they try hard to sound fresh...richies voice and an acoustic would be enough...

Here comes the knockout again. Always looking for the next hit, right? I'm hoping to see something positive about you about Richie, but I think that's asking too much of a person with so much ... I let's leave it there.

If Jon is such a good composer? Why do he need a lot of writers and of course Richie's collaboration? I'm sorry, but Richie has never been overrated, on the contrary, he was always underestimated by everyone, and he continues to be.

I agree, the same sensations. But I add something, I want to see everything they have recorded, I think there are 25 songs, and I want see how far this has come. I have a problem with RSO, I'm not a fan of Orianthi, she's good of course, but I'm not there for her, and of course, this duet is not 50% of both. I think she is 70% and Richie 30%, my sensations, and that's where the thing does not end up working for me.

You misunderstood. I was not insulting Richie. I don’t deny he’s a contributor. I insulted the illogical people who think he’s the magical main writer of Bon Jovi songs when he has not been credited as the sole composer of but maybe 3 songs? Even if Jon and Richie contribute 50/50, Jon is still the primary songwriter. I know this because I can count.
