Yeah, that (sort of) makes sense, at least it's what I'm hearing as well. Though I'd go with "It's hard to beat, babe, all that we GO through." On the second part, I don't know if "rides" is correct. It sounds like the word starts with an "a", like "arouse" or "arrive" or something. Didn't you or somebody say there's another recording of it than the YT version? Maybe it's clearer to make out there...
