I don't think that you can judge the style of the album on a photo. I don't think he looks 40, but he's certainly looking a lot healthier recently. I came across some footage from 2014 the other day and he looked like a mess.

What makes you think so, rolo? That's not a challenge, btw; I'm just curious. Is it because they're both holding acoustics as opposed to electric guitars, or Richie's steel, or something else?

There were some headlines, at one point, that made it sound like they were doing a country album. But iirc, in the articles Richie and Ori said it was going to be a mix of genres, including some country.

I'm not that familiar with Ori's solo work, but all of Richie's past albums have mixed it up pretty well, imo. There were a few songs on AOTL, like Backseat Driver and Taking a Chance on the Wind, that would have fit right in on country stations or CMT. So, it wouldn't bother me if there are a few songs with a country feel.

But then, I'm a middle-of-the-road kinda gal. Some of my favorite songs are crossovers and songs that don't really "fit" a particular genre.

I do not say it as something bad or negative, I just expected something ... different, something more blues, rock n roll, with a twist of ..... something more modern maybe. And add a couple of songs with country touch but nothing else. If that photo reflects the album, it seems more of a country environment, it does not have an aggressive or cool and sophisticated image.

But it does not matter, the music can be wonderful, I love Undiscovered Soul, and it's a very relaxed record, with some country music, pop ballads and some blues.

It's one promo photo with not an ounce of recorded music released from it. I can't believe I'm suggesting someone be patient when it comes to this album but here I am LOL.

Too funny! But y'know, sometimes we do become even more impatient when it seems the wait may soon be over. Thanks for the laugh anyway. I really needed that today!

I just can't wait for the album to be over and done with already

If this was strictly a Richie solo album, I'd have a totally different attitude... If it was two seasoned veterans who decided to collaborate (like Richie and Cheryl Crow), I'd have a totally different attitude... Even if Ori was just going to be the guitarist on his album, I'd have a totally different attitude... The fact that Richie is bringing his "younger girlfriend" into the mix as an equal and calling it a 'duets album', is a complete ****ing turn off... They have done NOTHING to date that impresses me. It's totally taking the cool out of Richie. TBH, Richie's last solo album was just okay... There were a few good songs but overall as an album, it wasn't that great...However part of the solo album charm is Richie showcasing what he could do on his own, outside of Bon Jovi... Having her in the mix strips that charm away...

These topics and discussions have been going on way too long and I just want this album out and done with so we could all move on... I don't care if the album is great or totally sucks at this point... I just want these 12 songs out and done so we and Richie could move on to the next chapter in Bon Jovi...

Ori kinda looks like Dolly Parton in that pic, but not like a 30 year old Dolly Parton. At least Richie's looking healthier again. The style of the pic does him more favors than the whole "aging rocker with unbuttoned shirt embarrasses daughter" look he'd seemed to be prone to lately.
