Masterpiece is a really grower after repeated listens, it's actually a great song. As I said before, this would work great on the radio...

I've read stuff on German fanboards where they are usually quite positive about new releases and it got slashed to pieces there

I would like to hear everything again, especially Rise, which was something more generic, but there were some very interesting guitars and riffs that reminded me of some things about Aerosmith, and their choirs were a little Def Leppard maybe? oh, I want to hear it all again, dudes.

I fully expect the majority of reviews from Bon Jovi fans to be negative. Because of the negative feelings that some fans still have toward anything Richie related and because of the style of the music. If you want to listen to something that sounds like Bon Jovi, well listen to Bon Jovi....Richie didn't leave the band just to make records that sound like the band....that would make no sense...

It will be interesting to see what reviews it gets in the media and non Jovi fans...

Sometimes prejudice can not be avoided, it has happened to me with Jovi or other bands at the beginning of their releases, but then one can change their minds through the eavesdropping.

I can also see that she does not like people who basically do not like orianthi, she seems to have a little more weight, at least on this EP, but I think there is enough Sambora here and there.

I can also see how Richie and Ori have been doing jamming and extended solo on their live shows and here there is none of that, at least on this EP. It would be interesting that each EP is a different thing.

I think Truth and Masterpeice definitely lean more to the sound of Ori's stuff than Richie's. I think Rise is more Richie, is some ways it could sit on Aftermath in the place of something like Burn That Candle Down, but with a different twist to it. Take Me is clearly Richie's as it's only him on vocals, but it sounds like nothing he has done before! Good Time could have come from either of them really, it's not typical of either.

It is surprising that there is so little guitars, I also hope that one of the future EPs is more guitar orientated.

Yes, I agree, but felt a great sensation, yesterday, I heard to the EP at least 4 times, and it was satisfactory to listen, there were good layers in the mix. Yep, there are few guitars but they are very audible, and the songs not become long and boring, everything feels very direct. I think they want to fill that gap of singers and composers, and this first contact is oriented to that.

Haven’t heard cos the link isn’t working but why was anyone expecting/wanting Bon Jovi sounding songs? He was in BJ for nearly 30 years he wouldn’t leave Jovi and make Jovi sounding music?? I’m all for a different direction as it will show why he left.

Old interview with Richie Sambora 1/19/2017

So it sounds like a lot of time and effort has been put into making this album. How many tracks can we expect?

RS- Well we actually have twenty-two songs together, so we actually have two records worth. It helps because we both have rather prolific writing careers between the two of us. So I'd love to do a double album and release them all at once because it's done, it's here and it's finished. But it's more of a case of how much the people can digest, that's the question. Also I guess we're actually releasing a new sound with it. Most will recognise as both as guitar players and not singer/song writers. So I was actually debating on calling the record 'We Don't Know Who You Are Either'.

We're pretty sure you could both go pretty much anywhere in the world and people will know who you are. But with the way the music industry is these days you could probably release the songs in different fashion. Do you think that there's still a place for an album.

RS- I hope there is! We definitely want to release this an album because we covered a lot of ground on this record, from rock to blues to pop there's even some country. I'm very, very proud of what this record has become.

------

Interesting, 22 songs. Maybe they have more songs, since this interview is from January. They could have grade 24 or 25 songs actually, which would be 4 or 5 EPs.
