Of course not. But are we going to not allow people who do like it to state opposing views? Or is that a privilege reserved only for those who think it's 'shite'?
Thank you Jackie.

I made one comment about those that still have a chip on their shoulder about him leaving (and there are some...) in god knows how many posts I've made in the last 24 hours. The rest have been valid points, both positive and negative regarding the EP....but people read into things what they want to sometimes...I get the feeling people think that I am pro Richie and anti Jon on this board, but if you actually go back and read my posts I praise and criticise them both when I feel it is necessary...

Back on topic....

Several spins later, I'm still enjoying parts of it and not others....

Good Time and Tired seem to get old quick...they are catchy but kind of throwaway tracks for me that I got a little bored with....Take Me I still enjoy more with each listen and Masterpiece, which I didn't originally like is now one of the better tracks for me. Rise I liked instantly and still do, it feels a bit messy in places, but it works for me...

So, I also ask myself if this wasn’t Richie would I give these songs the time of day or skip and being honest right now the answer is skip.

I have not said that. I have said that the sound is new, but it is not innovative, it is a sound that is familiar in some way, but it is very refreshing and well produced and mixed. He was talking about sound, not composition. The compositions are as good or better than those of BJ today. It's not Stranger, but it's not horrible as many point out, and there was something special about every song that I really liked and it was very catchy and easy to hear. I think this EP is somehow satisfying, but we can easily expect better things, this is just the EP1 and I really liked this first contact of RSO.

Richie still has the passion in Take Me, the song was improving as it progressed, after an acoustic solo, Richie became more intense in the last part, was amazing.

Oh I am fine with new sounds, directions, etc but I don’t like this batch. I wouldn’t like them by anyone lol! Doesn’t mean I won’t like the next EP.

Well, that's very respectable. Sometimes it's hard enjoy everything. Reunion, Ghost, Real Love or Rollercoaster are not my cup of tea, but not all boils down to that.

Thanks Doc!

After one listen, I think it's okay. Not at all what I was expecting when I first heard that Richie and Ori were working on music together. But not totally unexpected after seeing that they were going in a different direction (e.g. when Truth debuted live with zero guitars).

I think this will grow on me.

Sorry guys, had to take down the link. File sharing isn't allowed, especially on anything unreleased that puts the board in jeopardy. PM each other, just nothing public.

I genuinely don't see why Beautiful Day was brought into the discussion. I'm not disregarding the point, it came across to me as "well Jon writes poppy stuff too so lay off Richie" when there's a big difference between writing an ultra poppy song to fit a soundtrack and writing songs for yourself. I don't get why Jon was brought up at all when we're discussing Richie's E.P.

Opposing views are going to happen, and Thinny I'm not trying to paint you in that light. There ARE people with chips on their shoulder on how he left and will trash this without even listening, 100 percent.

Fair enough, but I wasn't the one that brought Jon into the topic, someone wrote before that that Jon was writing Pop/Rock records and Richie was making Disney Pop songs or something along those lines....hence my comment. Moving on...
