Story of my Life
"And when I paint my masterpiece I swear I'll show you first "

Pictures of You
"I feel just like Picasso
And you're my masterpiece
I painted you a lifetime
Now what's left are memories, oh…"

BJ only performed SOML live and what's interesting, Jon always came close to Richie while singing this part. That must have been some sort of acknowledging him, then :3
I like what you're getting at but Richie was the co-writer of only Pictures of You so I think it might just e coincidence.

That being said, that line from SOML might be my favourite line of the album.

Well, if Jon knew it was Richie's way of saying "I love you" (and I'm sure he knows awful lots, esp. if the idea is 20 years old already), then he could as well use it even without Richie co-writing the song. They said several times they worked on a song in a form of a dialogue, sharing what they feel about different things, usually starting from the title, so why not having certain imagery, too?

There is a similar-ish sentiment in Richie's song One Last Goodbye from the Bangor Sisters soundtrack

"There's a painting of you in a beautiful light
Hangs on the wall of my heart
It'll live there forever, time after time
Like a priceless, fine work of art"

Always loved that verse

So now we know for sure this phrase was coined by Richie. What a beautiful thing! BTW. I love the song!

I don't think there's any way you can know for absolute sure who wrote which particular line?

Only if they tell you. It’s not like anyone in Bon Jovi coined the idea of a “masterpiece.”

Eveline, it feels like you're really grasping at straws trying to prove Jon include a word as a nod to Richie. A masterpeice is such a common thing this is all just a big coincidence.

One Last Goodbye had four writers: Richie Sambora, Chris Farren, Blair Daly, Gordie Sampson (who the band worked with off and on from Lost Highway forward). We'll never know who inspired what but I don't know why people think there's more there then there is sometime.

Do you think November will be the next move for the second EP? Will there be another 5 songs or maybe more? maybe 6? They will include "What Have We Done", "Making History", "Magic", "Walk With Me" and "I Got you Babe" ??

I think it's safe to assume it'll be another 5 track EP. And I would have thought they'll keep the strongest material for the album, so personally I'd put "I Got You Babe" on the second EP!
