Although I agree that he did a decent job with it, it's NOT better than the original. It doesn't even compare vocally and ummm yeah!!! Richie is a screamer which is not always a good thing...

Give the original a listen!!!

Savoy Brown Hellbound Train - YouTube
Of course, but I love Richie as a singer, and those guitars and he singing make it a much bigger enjoyment for me than the original. It's like The Boys Are Back in Town or House Of Fire, we all know that Thin lizzy and Alice are more great, but as a Jovi fan is much more enjoyable his covers.

I can also argue the same with Metallica, I love all its covers.

Anyone received the album from Amazon UK today?

Pre ordered mine and it says it won't be with me til tuesday, even though it's in stock now.

Annoying!

Amazon are shite with Pre-orders, they are nearly always a few days late, unless you are a Prime customer.

I am a prime member, that's why it's annoyed me. Expedited delivery my arse.

Have tried to contact them to ask why but just get some automated guff.

Oh well. Just wondered if anyone else out there had received there's today.

That's a shockingly poor service if you are a prime member then, but Amazon has been on a downward slope for some time as far as deliveries and customer services go, in my opinion...

Agreed. This has happened on a few pre-orders lately. The crazy thing is, if I go to the item page, it’s in stock and available for delivery tomorrow.. but it now won’t let me cancel the current order, even though it’s not even remotely ready for dispatch.

Have emailed them and will see what they say/do.

Moral of the story, don’t pre-order. Trying to think who else to use in the UK for cd releases these days?

HMV.co.uk do CD pre-orders, but I don't know how reliable they are on deliveries...

Thanks Thinny, I’d forgotten HMV we’re still going online tbh. No RSO on the site but will keep them in mind for next time.

Hi

I am a longtime reader of this forum and a big Richie fan from austria.

I received my album which i preordered by amazon today.

I really like that in contrast to Aftmerath this time there is a booklet in the album. According to this Richie played guitar, bass (on many tracks), percussion (on some tracks) and piano on Take Me.

I am also wondering why they had a different drummer for the last two songs. Aaron Sterling, who was on tour with Richie in 2012 played on Blues won't leave me alone and Hellbound train. On the other tracks Abe Laboriel Jr is on the drums.
