The Richie Sambora & Orianthi album

Nobody pays blogs that have a small readership money for good reviews. It's a waste of money. Big websites with millions of hits, yeah sure, but a blog that is run buy a guy from his bedroom and gets a couple of hundred visitors a week. Doesn't happen. he's just thankful to get a free copy of the CD.

I agree that I wouldn't score the album as highly, but it's the trend today that high scores are given if someone likes it. They don't compare it to previous output, or think about it in realtion to how they would score other things. As someone that deals with this kind of thing all the time, I see it constantly. They like it, so they give and an 8 or 9. It's ok, 5-7, didn't like it 3-4. Things are rarely given 1,2 or 10.

If RSO are not investing money on Videos or really any sort of promotion, they are not going to waste money on buying good reviews. The label are unlikely to care enough to do this either. They are not Universal, and RSO are not a major act. And in the days when everything is out on he internet before release anyways, reviews are really nowhere near as important these days to justify it...

Are there news/chances/hints that the album will be released in Japan with bonus tracjs, as it is usual? I'm still waiting with order. It seems strange to me to use only Amazon to distribute the album.

I was joking but this album isn’t 95% good which is what all the reviews are suggesting.

Cdjapan.co.jp have the album listed for the end of June. States Japan bonus track(s) in the info, but only lists the same 15 tracks.

I’m not saying anyone was paid for reviews.

However, a successful blogger can get amazing incentives for product placement. If you’re young, good looking, and play your cards right, you can live the high life with a successful blog following.

If it’s music related, you may not make money, but you can get free music and free tickets which are incentives.

This post has nothing to do with RSO, but I dispute that bloggers in general can’t make a profit of some sort.

Agreed Becky, a lot of people start music blogs in order to get free stuff, not to make money!

Successful bloggers can indeed make some money, mainly on advertising revenue. But you'd have to be getting a lot of hits to make any real money doing this. A couple of the reviews posted looked to be personal type blogs, unprofessional, and clearly not getting a huge amount of traffic. There's no money to be made from sites like this. People still think that you can just put anything on the internet and instantly make money from it. It's not the case, with so many sites now out there challenging for their place on google and the visitor hits it's now harder than ever to get a blog off the ground. The ones that have already been established for many years have the monoploy and it's hard for anything new to break through those.

I'm mainly talking about the music blogs here by the way, not the pretty boys and girls that do youtube videos, etc, and get millions of hits, different kettle of fish...

As I said in my previous post, if you have a blog that is getting a lot of hits, then it's a different story, but 999 out of 1000 blogs don't get anywhere close to this.

If it was that easy we'd all be doing it. How many people do each of you know in your lives that have made any real money from blogs? Not many, if any....
