I agree to some extent, but there's still commercial expectations. Obviously he's not expecting a hit at this point, but, for example, if you expect the album to sell 50 copies and it only sells 5, that's still a disappointment. You can't tell me Richie was not disappointed by how poorly his album and tour was received in US in 2012. And back then he still had a bigger % of Jovi fans interest. Now a good number of them have turned on him (incl. myself, I saw him in 2012, will never see him again), so no matter how low the standards of success are for Richie, I think the new album still flops based on them. And with semi-famous people working on it, it can't be financially viable. Even tour-wise in 2014 he couldn't sell out most of his European shows (which was no problem 2 years prior). I can't imagine him continuing this path for very long. It may take a few years, but he'll go back to Jon at some point, I believe.
