I wonder if Heather getting ill made him realise that he probably never loved Orianthi and that she was a musical rebound after Jovi, combine that with no one being that interested in anything else he has done since leaving BJ.
Thank goodness this train wreck is over.
Dont worry he'll have another woman on his arm and he'll tell everyone he's happy with life and music - then rinse and repeat.

You're awfully hung up on that whole "thinking with his dick" thing, aren't you?
Get rid of that, and this becomes nothing more than what he's done for years. Sub "a sexless marriage" for "love" and his comments could be from any interview he (or Jon, for that matter) has done for any BJ album since TD. It's called promotion; and I'm not quite sure that "We hate each other, and our music sucks" would work.
Otherwise, I agree with a lot you said. I don't think it took Heather going off the deep end, though, to make him realize it. I think he's known all along that Ori was the "wrong blue-eyed blond(e)". Romantically, she wasn't Heather; and musically, she wasn't Jon. IMO, he was just filling time until something happened with Jovi, or barring that, until he figured out what he really wanted to do.
I still say the "couple" thing was promotion, on his part anyway. Not sure about Ori. From her posts, she seemed to be more into it. Maybe his public support of Heather just made a good break point.
