Yah, I may have been off. It feels like everything is in house, it shows with the lack of promo. They filmed 12 video and didn't really do much with them.

Or it could be that the label just doesn't give a crap, as they are only licencing the product, they don't own it. They probably have a 5 year licence on it or something. I can't see Jon footing the bill for all the videos, etc? But again, I might be the one that has it all off. Who knows...

I thought I heard Tidal footed the bill in exchange for the exclusivity deal, or am I thinking of another album entirely?

It was THINFS. I tried to find something solid on it, but it seems that Tidal paid for the official videos and the Oct 20 promo live stream. Not sure about the other promo shows. There was some confusion about the first one, which turned out to be a fan's FB page. I couldn't see anything about the other 3 promo shows; but I know I watched all 5, so the other 3 may have been fan videos as well. But then the London Palladium show was officially released by BJ, wasn't it?

Heck if I know... I seem to be full of questionable information today.

Sidebar: While skimming through the search results, I ran across this, dated Sept 23, 2016:

He played it off as a joke when Chris pushed him and he mentioned Tico and Dave, but I guess we all know that it's not really a band at all anymore...
So when exactly was Phil-X made an official member? I thought it supposedly happened in 2015 or shortly after Richie was officially out of the band. I seem to remember some group interview where Phil-X was asked if he was official, and his responses was something like, "Well, Jon's nodding at me so I guess the answer is 'yes'." I was thinking that was earlier than fall of 2016; but I've slept since then.

Jajaj I do remember when JBJ said “One... myself”
he always has said “The mess is the record, the mess is the band, the mess is what you see on the stage, the mess is Bon Jovi... The mess is MINE...”

About Phil X... in the THINFS book it only says: “X was made an official band member for the This House Is Not For Sale tour. Joining Bon Jovi means X must strike a balance in playing solos and riffs that are ingrained in fans’ consciousness, while not forsaking his own wild mustang style.”

When was time of all the House creative JBJ himself said: “We’re taking pictures, everybody be there.”
Phil X said: “When it comes from the boss, you kind of feel like, wow, that’s actually pretty cool. A lot of people said it’s the step that makes the most sense, but as far as I’m concerned I’m still a fan.”
I always interpreted that and more things like that the message could be pretty clear when fans purchases tickets... they would know Sambora wasn’t going to be there... (billboard, sign at the venue, poster, shirt...)
At the end, who knows? all signs are JBJ, lately... And that would take us to the beginning of my post... jajaj

I remember listening to that interview and being surprised that Jon said that about Phil and Hugh, as all the promo shots seemed to be pushing them as a band again. I guess at the end of the day Jon is still the one that owns "Bon Jovi" and everyone else are his employees. That's the way it's always been, and the way it always will be...

And there we get back to the topic in another thread about everyone in the band being interchangeable on the records, apart from Jon...

I hope Richie forgets project in collaboration and returns to make a solo album.

With Richies money and persona if he had one person close to him he would had some managerial input and Richies trust he could work wonders.
If Richie decided to write some more songs and realised there is no chance for a radio hit but he could deliver sth great via live shows/youtube etc he may had sth. At this point he isnt getting either.
Rehearse with a good band. Work on your chops. truly Prepare fo a show. there is a market for Richie outhere, maybe not in us but there is in the rest of the world. he just needs a guy or a girl who would manage him. take over his social media, create a site, scale down and invest on quality.
