In fact, as far as I could tell, there's nothing to suggest that Richie had anything to do with this article at all.

According to the article, Richie didn't say anything. All I saw was a bunch of information that everybody already knows and a lot of quotes from "a source" who apparently didn't want to be named. I don't give much credence to what an anonymous source has to say, since it could be anyone. (Granted, when it comes to information about Richie, that's probably because Nikki Lund/Sean Borg are usually the first "sources" that come to my mind; and this sounds like their kind of pot-stirring maneuver.)

As far as the convenient timing goes, it might help to remember that there's absolutely nothing new about Ori posting pictures of them working in the studio with various ppl and talking about their album. She's been doing that all along - to the extent that it got downright confusing, there for a while, as to whether she was talking about work they were doing on their album or about stuff they were working on with someone else. It definitely isn't something she's started doing just since the Jovi album was announced.

I still say that Richie and Doc are smart enough to realize that there's nothing to be gained by trying to tie the RSO album to the Jovi release. Any potential benefit that might come from the exposure would be far outweighed by exactly this type of reaction, which would only lead to a rehashing of old history and renewed resentment toward Richie.
Some good points. I still think it was Richie's publicist giving this info to the media and using his band departure as the lead off. It doesn't add up that a source is randomly talking to magazines about such an issue.

i think its a bit suspicious, there will be many articles like that...drama sells...even if richie doesnt want to their whole promo will be around bj...
a couple more thoughts...
1.i hope bob rock got the best from richie, this collaboration was long overdue...bob rock was to produce stanger in 1990-1991...instead he did metallicas black album
2.from the tweets and photos looked like richie did a whole lotta work in this while orianthi looked like was less involved especially in the last stages, just an assumption but richie learnt from the best when it goes to being in control...
3.i m anticipating both projects but listening orianthi sing in every song not so much...
4.if i m not mistaken orianthi reposted the people article with richie not coming back cause he is a dad...no comment...she received some beating in the comment section, she d better not get involved because its gonna backfire sooner or later

Bob Rock is great at making records SOUND awesome. He's pretty bad at filtering the filler from the hits. He's the guy that did Load and ReLoad, after all. I'm kinda worried because with all these songs, the one thing this album's gonna need the most is concise direction.

Agreed. Hearing her say it's only the mixing of this BATCH of songs worries me. I'm scared of Bounce 2.0, a hodgepodge of genres.

'Specially since they did such an outstanding job of showing how young and defenseless and unhappy she would be without her daddy around.

BTW, Ori's comment that it was the last day of mixing for "this batch" of tunes sounds like they still have some work to do. They better get a move on if they're planning to stay on Jon's timeline. Chop, chop!

Or perhaps something wonderful as a collection songs as Box Set 100 millions fans cant be wrong.

It could also be a double album according Orianthi. If Bounce had been a double album, including all the b-side with a best mixed, as well as the official cd, which could have been very cool and more bigger than it was.

CD1
Undivided
Everyday
The Distance
Misunderstood
All About Loving You
Hook Me Up
Joey
Love Me Back To Life
Right Side Of Wrong
Open All Night

CD2
Bounce
Another Reason To Believe
We Can Dance
Breathe
Alive
No Regrets
Lucky
You Had Me From Hello
Standing
Postcards From The Wasteland

Bonus Japan*
Mona Lisa

Imagine that all the songs have been worked and mixed for a double album.

Your optimism is nice but saying if Bounce was a double album it would have sold more is steeped in crazysauce.
