I think Jon moved the release date because he was aiming to have the #1 album "the week the first woman President was elected" to have that footnote in history. I don't think it was motivated by Gaga.

Now that IS a cool fact. I wish they had released it then just for that alone. But as ppl have said, it may not have been a #1 if they'd released it then, either.

But it's still a very cool fact, danfan! Thanks for sharing.

Musically they do, but lyrically Ghost is far superior. NYD does remind me of Water off WAN, which isn't a bad thing as it's the best song on it.

It's inevitable songs are sounding similar musically as the producer and JBJ are writing partners. As much as I love THINFS, I'd still prefer they went for a new producer next time. (Which they won't)

If so, why not choose Nov.4th the first time? Election dates aren't last minute arrangements.

Maybe keeping the album off Spotify for a few weeks is an attempt to maintain or in some places re-enter themselves in the charts almost purely by streaming (the singles have a decent amount of listens relative to their own material), but it's going to be a long shot. And of course that Tidal thing...

I'm still reading about people's guesses as to why the album release date was pushed back...

Wasn't it stated that the album date was pushed back to coincide with ticket sales? They were offering the album to each person purchasing tickets...

Is that included in this mix?

Yeah I agree. It was too late in the game to change the release date for that reason.

re/no THINFS on Spotify:
Deezer is the French equivalent to Spotify. The 17 songs are available if you're a paying member but only 4 if you use the free version:
http://www.deezer.com/album/14459614
so it may have nothing to do with the Tidal deal.
