It doesn't "break" the song for me though, so it'd be nice if they cleaned it up for the album, but I wouldn't lose sleep over it either way

That seemed really awkward. He didn't say anything like "it sounds great" or "I love it", which would be the natural PC reaction, he only said "congrats". It would have been more smooth to simply send a tweet on this.

It's good he didn't say something like "great song" or "love it". THIS would have been awkward, by far no natural reaction and most probably a lie.
Nice move that he even mentioned Phil. On the other hand it is to me the evidence that he is through with being a member of that band.

It's a nice touch, at the end of the day he has spent 30 years of his life with these guys...why shouldn't he send them a message of support!

He's probably thinking the same as most people with regards to the song being more of the same, so why should he say that he thinks it's great and come across and insincere...

It's been three years, there's really no need for either side to hold a grudge, both are moving on. Shame a lot of the fans can't do the same....

It will be interesting to see if there is a response...
