OH doy, I'm an idiot. Yeah that's John Shanks. Been playing with them for all the promo shows and confirmed to be on the tour.

Love the snippets. Think that Living with the ghost is going to be a good song and also God bless this mess , Real Love is more beautiful now

Well, Shanks touring with the band would be a good thing IMO. It'd give him and JBJ some time to write songs outside of studio time, where time is money. On the road, not so much.

I'm quite puzzled why he'd stop producing albums for the tour, though. Does he like the band that much?

Anyone else thinks Goodnight NY is what Beautiful World was supposed to be? The same theme, but much more well executed.

Him being involved with the tour means the days of a year plus long tours are over. The dates must be spread out or not as often per week.

Loving the sound of the record. Living with the Ghost, Devil's in the Temple and God Bless This Mess are standout tracks for me along with Born Again Tomorrow.

Rollercoaster is the only song I'm not too fond of from the snippets. The vocals in the chorus sound pretty bad IMO.

In my head Goodnight NY was supposed to be this slow acoustic dark song...probably something like In My Secret Life by Leonard Cohen. How wrong I was...

Anyway, am I the only one who can't stop listening to the snippet of Rollecoaster?

-Devil's In The Temple is a f**king killer track.
-Rollercoaster is one huge clusterfluck.
-I loved I Will Drive You Home; it has that low-key mid-2010s sound perfect for, well, late-night romantic drives.
-Best atmosphere among the non-singles goes to Come Up To Our House. I can place it in These Days and no one would bat an eye.
-Jon sounded to strong on Real Love, and it distracts from the ambience a bit.
-Production in WDR was obviously tweaked: Hugh and Shanks are higher in the mix in exchange for the wall of sound and echoes from Tico and Jon. "Hey"s can be heard around the chorus as well. Oh, and who's doing the backing vocals in the verses? JBJ sounds layered out there, plus the chorus now finally sounds it was done in one vocal take, rather than "RUUUN" being separate vocal track from the rest of the song.
-As mentioned earlier, someone was trying to be The Edge in Goodnight NY, down to the exact sound heard in Joshua Tree.
-Well, at least, the guitars are higher in the mix than they were in the past few albums. But Rollercoaster is still one huge clusterfluck.
