Or maybe I've been living in Europe for such a long time that celebrities freely talking about their kids seems normal to me but abnormal when they don't.
I half agree. Jon's never been a guy to bring up his kids and I think if he would people here would attack him for capitalizing on it. Whether it's a non-topic ahead of time from the BJ camp or the journalists not bringing it up I don't know. It'd had to have been a big part of why the last 3 years sucked but opening up that can of worms in the press again doesn't seem to be an option this time around.

Indeed, I think we can take it as a given that it's included but it's not fair on Stephanie to bring it up. It's her life and she doesn't need it dragged up in the media again to sell her dads albums. Anyone who knows about it already does and knows that Jon obviously includes that in his 3 years of pain but she isn't the famous one, so the public need to know nothing more about it.

The Circle certaintly disappointed. I think that I liked it because I felt I should like it. Rockier sound, some good songs, some decent lyrics, not many apparent fillers (LH is 90% fillers to me). I went through different phases with that album, from writing it off completely when I heard the singles, to buying it after a long debate with myself but shelving it immediately without having heard it, to slowly coming to terms with the worst songs and finding it was a decent album.

But it never grabbed me.

I still love a couple songs but I can't say that I feel attached to them or that I want to give it a full listen. If it was other band, I'd say I like the album, but it's my favorite band and up until HAND I felt some kind of connection to every album. Even to LH which I now realize it was more a sort of defending-your-band-against-the-naysayers kind of connection not a genuine one.

I understand what you're saying and I agree... to a certain extent. But well, it's only pop music and marketing after all!

I love the Circle, every song apart from Born To Follow and Live Before You Die grabbed me - still does. They go from half decent to something like Bullet or Fast Cars (yeah I kinda' like it), to pretty good with Happy Now and Thorn In My Side, to excellent with Love's The Only Rule, Brokenpromiseland, and Superman Tonight and When We Were Beautiful.
