It reminds me a little when Jon also sings American Pie. But yes, the electric version will be like Who Says or The More Thing Change style.

I feel this song is on the album simply to justify that they are now a band without Richie, and counteract the drama, as says: these things happen, such is life... and all people who join to they is welcome.

common man, whole lotta leavin is one of their best post 2000 songs. Because it is clear of the live-your-life/wannabe-happy shit.

Reunion also seems rather honest, but the melody & style are rather boring. Whole lotta leavin melody was also generic, but the orchestration made up for that.

Don't judge the song from the unplugged version Jon played...I think the studio version may be a lot different...I said WLOL part 2 because as someone else pointed...Reunion may be a direct message to Richie...

@jovi7826 - WLOL was about Richie? Parson my ignorance, but what's the story behind that?

It was about Richie losing his father as far as I can recall.

Been a while since I posted. As a stand alone song, I like it. It isn't anything new but as a single it does what it needs to. I've listened to it way more than the previous recent singles and still enjoy it.

When did a throwaway catchy Bon Jovi become so frowned upon? Their whole catalogue has examples of such songs. People scoring it 2 or 3 must really dislike a fair few Bon Jovi songs.

I'm purely judging it as a single song. It's not comparable to These Days or Dry County as it's not trying to be that type of song.

Does that mean I want 12 similar songs on an album? No.

The lyrics are no worse than dozens of songs, many of those are from the 80s/90s too.

I would have preferred the guitars in the verses and chorus be more prominent. And as someone mentioned before, the "coming home" hook would have been more effective after the 2nd chorus.

It seems to be the album opener too, which slightly worries me in terms of hoping for a heavier guitar driven album. But we'll see.

(N.B. I personally believe the only viable route the band could take that would increase album sales is through a genuine hard rock album. They are unlikely to attract the mainstream masses anymore but the rock/metal fanbase would be intrigued by a new BJ album that actually rocked hard)

The law of diminishing returns.

I'm sick of them doing the same shit over and over again. Especially, when
a) Richie's departure should mark a new era for the band
b) BB had some some songs where you could feel a new sound.

I guess shame on me for expecting more. But I feel like they took 1 step forward 2 steps back with this song. And yes, the rest of the album could be different. But given that it's the lead single AND the title track, makes it not very likely in my opinion.
