Put The Boy Back In Cowboy is still one of my favorites!! And good point with the soda/dinner analogy. Another one of these types of songs was Standing which was also "meh" for me. Of course, the key difference with all the songs I've mentioned is they were left OFF of the respective albums lol!

I'm gutted. As a huge fan of the boxing, I was hoping a song called 'Knockout' would be killer. It sounds poor though. Jon sounds so autotuned it's actually ridiculous. I can't hear the guitar much, if at all.

It sounds like a demo. It's like it's the slowed down version of what it should be but it's obviously not.

If it had a bit of balls in the chorus (which is mostly what we have heard) with the song being uptempo and some guitar, it could have been something we'd all be excited about.

That's true, but it's 30 seconds of a 3:29 song. It's not like hearing only 30 seconds of Dry County.

Provided it could still surprise me, but with such a short running time, I'm not expecting much.

Yah, once you hear a verse and chorus, THAT's the nuts of a song. It'd be silly to complain about the lyrics until we've heard em all but song style is absolutely something we know.

FWIW, the song is fun. Much like WAN my biggest gripe is production, though I wish the chorus had more of an oomph. Louder guitars, louder guitars, louder guitars.

Caved and listened. I got the One Directon comment straight away, but i think the full track will make that less apparent. The vocals in the snippet sound stronger than WAN and the same calibre as THINFS, so i'm happy enough with that. No proper judgements until full track's released.

Well that's jon's appearance on xfactor sorted then with knockout sung as the promotional song. Maybe the contestants can all mime to prayer again like last time!

Yep, it took me a whole 10 seconds for me to cave and listen to the snippet. Ugh!

I quite like the preview. My first impression is much more positive than my first impression of the THINFS preview. Jon's voice sounds quite weak and tinny, but the song itself (or at least the preview of the song) sounds good - production aside. Very much more in line with the We Don't Run sound of Burning Bridges (which is great IMO).
