This was far more interesting than I thought it would be. It says to me that THINFS shouldn't be seen as a live your life song, and it wasn't meant to apply to every Joe Sixpack.

I much prefer the introspective angle, each wall of the house representing a member of the band and the roots snaking up into the house is a powerful image and actually gives it some depth.

Question is, if this house (the band) is not for sale, is the connotation that members who have left the band (ie Richie) have sold out?
