For me, the live versions supplement the album. They aren't setting the bar for what I expect from the album. Both will have their strengths and weaknesses. Based on what I've heard of the album, I'm going to enjoy both equally. Think of the two as different mixes.

Definitely give the studio album time to settle in and listen to it through different sources amd situations. Snap judgements aren't accurate.
