I think it might be one of these songs I'll "get" when I hear it live. Mystery Train was like that.

"This House Is Not for Sale" and "God Bless This Mess" it's like "The Distance" and "Love Me Back to Life" lololo

"New Year's Day" intro reminds me intro of "That's What the Water Made Me"

NYD didnt do anything for me on first listen, then i listened to the London version and Jon telling the story of how the song came to be and now it is one of my favorites and growing stronger everyday.

Somehow knowing the story made me think of how the band felt and what they were going through while working on this song. It is such an "Anthem for Rebirth"...

"For all of our tomorrows, and what was yesterday...."

to me that is the moment they know they are leaving all the crap behind and a brand new chapter is being written, cuz, u know? this isn't Auld Lang Syne!

P.S: yes, the first time i heard that "Come on" i wanted to jump and sing out loud too!
