It wasnt you thats correct. I can see it lyrically but a song like Rollercoaster or BAT is equally bad as WAN or Because we can. Same production same songwriting formula. SOme of you seem to say that THINFS is a 180 degree turning point. I cannot see this at all. Just the same tricks over and over again. Nothing new nothing fresh.

Rollercoaster may have decent lyrics (IDK never read them so far) but this song is a prime example what I don't want JBJ sound like. Trying to sound like a teenage plastic pop star. Pretty pathetic to listen to this song. Makes me cringe....

So it's Jon's delivery that irks more than the song?

Bon Jovi have always had pop/rock cheesy, throwaway songs. It's pointless deriding a song like Knockout but then allow a song like Blame It On The Love....for example, to escape similar criticism. If Jon wrote the lyric "boogie woogie fever" NOW, there would be heads exploding all over JT!

The leveller back then was the more sincere songs like Dry County, KTF etc. A balance.

I think THINFS should be allowed similar grace. Ghost, Temple, Scars, I Will Drive You Home, are Knockout's leveller, for me.

Hopefully I will share the enthusiasm for the album once I listen to it.

I am comparing awards. I don't buy music because someone else is telling me it is great. I trust my own ears usually

And when it comes to "current" music. I listen to evrything from Pink to the current Alter Bridge (awesome band) or Avenged Sevenfold albums. Like in the old days when I listened to Queen Mötley Springsteen Kiss Billy Joel etc etc.

So much to "Living in the past". And I think the new Metallica will be a monster

They surely had their fillers on albums. BIOTLORR is one of them. But those throwaways have become the majority of an album since 2007 and that's where the problem is. I would not mind JBJ write a boogie woogie lyric now if the song was awesome.

Exactly!! Blame it on the Love, Woman in Love, Social Disease, If That What It Takes. Never listen to them anymore. Cheese/typical filler to me.

Simply put,
Wait until the actual legit 18 or 19 track release.
Put on some top notch headphones and then make your final judgment.

Sure we all know who he is catering for (women in their 45+ who are still lusting for him) but donÄt forget your old fans.

What always disturbed me when it comes to JBJ is that he is almost denying that he was part of the 80's hair Rock era. He was the king of it once. Why deny it. It was a great time and you were part of it. It is like betraying your old fans when you come across embarrassed about this period. It was the most successful period for the band. And that's a fact.

I agree in terms of the dwindling fan base. I've said it for a while now, without a huge Always style hit song to attract the casual listener, the band are very much catering for the same fans who bought WAN. I don't see many new fans being won over, despite THINFS being much better than the last few albums.

The market were they could have won over older fans & gained newer ones, is rock. A genuine rocking, guitar heavy album with songs in the vein of The Devil's In The Temple would have gained them vital exposure in the rock press. It's a massive genre and some good, positive reviews would have generated a lot of interest. It's a missed opportunity, as much as I do like This House Is Not For Sale.

See I disagree with this.
The Knockout video has been a huge hit on Tidal.
The song whether you love it or hate it is the type of song
that the next generation loves. Just as much as THINFS, the song, has tailored towards young country fans.
