Don't really need it if you blind love

Team rock gave the album 2.5/5

Do we have a review thread??

Elegantly worded like someone who is knowledgeable about music from the past yet still respects bands from the present. Well done.

Kerrang and gave it 3 stars which comes out to a 60 on Metacritic.
I translated a German publication review and they gave it 7/10.
Both were relatively positive about the album.

Ha, thanks. Especially in the last three years when I did some digging into genres I didn't check out too much before I stumbled upon songs that just floored me due to how they approached the interplay between instruments and vocals, and in a way, approach rock music composition. (I doubt any of you guys are gonna be into them, but Secret & Whisper in particular almost made me listen to it all "innocent" again, as I was NOT able to comprehend what was going on on first listen, yet it was all so immediate and direct in the delivery).

So yeah, all this talk about how young artists "are not up to scratch" makes you either a. look ****ing old, or b. like somebody who doesn't do their research.

Of course, if you got into rock music when you were young and are now a bit older - you're not gonna discover new hot music that will blow you away on the radio anymore. Trends change, and what you like obviously isn't as hot as it used to be. You are not the demography for radio anymore, either. But if you love music, then you surely can invest the research and look for new stuff on your own. It's easier than ever, when sites such as last.fm and Sputnikmusic have "related artists" sections, and when you can just click onto related links on Youtube. Sure it takes more effort than to just play your old stuff again, but hey, if you don't feel like putting in the work, then don't bitch.

RockHard? Can't think of many German-only mags that have ranking systems that go to 10.

Well I attempted to search for it via google and was unable to find it. I may be inaccurate about the 7/10 rating. I know through my previous searches some media outlet gave it that rating of 7 and I do know that the German publication was positive stating that if you enjoyed Crush you would love this album.

Crush? Really?

Ok... Of all the albums they could have chosen...

I'm attaching the Spanish interview I was talking about yesterday. I skipped a couple of pages, nothing to see, just pictures.

I could try to translate if somebody is very interested. But only very very interested haha

(Ok. I'm translating)

So here's my quick review, and rating of songs.

1.Devil - I give this one a 10.
2.God Bless This Mess - Another 10.
3.THINFS - Another 10.

These 3 are better than anything on WAN for me.

4.Reunion - I give this one a 9, even if the intro is ripped off from Whole Lot Of Leaving. Add a chunky guitar solo and it's a 10.
5.New Years Day - This one's an 8 for me.
6.Living With The Ghost - Another 8. Would have been a 9, but don't care for how long it slows down.
7.Born Again Tomorrow - Another 8.
8.I Will Drive You Home - Another 8. I really like this one, even the end which is a direct rip off of the "Drive" soundtrack.
9.Roller Coaster - I give this one a 7. Not bad, but a bit too poppy for me.
10.Labor of Love - Another 7. Actually grown to like this one.
11.Knockout - 6. Might as well just be another This is our House.
12.Goodnight New York - Another 6. A bit flat, but it has it's moments.
13.All Hail The King - 5. I want to like this one, but the chorus sucks.
14.Scars on This Guitar, Come on up to our House & Real Love - All are a 1. Boring and useless filler.
