Right on!!
Can't wait to pickup my copy in 3 days.
Refreshing to find some positive and informative posts here this morning rather than certain pessimistic opinions which clearly are biased due to lack of research anf open mindedness to all types of music styles.
Keep the post coming.

But, Steve (aka Steel_horse75), didn't pay, the show was free, as was the Red Bank show for me. I give Jon a pass on not moving as much as he needed to crutch on being able to see lyrics since he was performing a new record in it's entirety that he'd not done before.

correct - plus the stage is quite small - no idea where JBJ is meant to round around unless the taxi rank outside counts.

Vocals are pretty good overall.

I Will Drive You Home is such an amazing song. I could listen to it on repeat forever

I have to confess: In 2013, I have downloaded WAN. I always download the albums when they leak and after I buy, even if I didn't like it too much. I love to open the CD, see the papers inside, the lyrics..but I never bought WAN. The album is horrible (even with my 8 to it in the pool thread, Oh God). I remember that after the first week hearing this, I couldn't take it anymore. Yeah, I love I'm with you (even with the robotic vocal) and Water is one the best post-2000 songs in for me. But I hate the album. Almost all the songs has no meaning, the lyrics are full of nothing and there's no creativity. Add to it the fact that the CD have no papers, no info, nothing. NOTHING. So, never bought and never will.

But, with THINFS, I can't wait to arrive friday and run to the CD store and buy the album, like in the old times. This album touch me. The lyrics, the band...(just a little complaining about the guitar work, but it's ok). As I said before: I love Richie, but he's gone for good. Now, welcome the new Bon Jovi.

Ps.: Just add that I'll give a try to new Richie album, as I loved Aftermath. He's my guitar hero, and always will be. Not because today. But because of his all carrer. Nothing can erase this.

That's a very good analogy. It not only illustrates one of the reasons why I like THINFS, but it's also why I can play the entire BJ catalog straight through without skipping songs.

(Okay, with the possible exception of WFTWM...)

Hiya folks, gave the album some time to sink it. Didn't know where to post a review so stuck it here. Feel free to read, discuss if you like.

1. This House Is Not For Sale - Absolutely standard first single 2000s jovi we've had many times. Same ranking i'd give we weren't born to follow - 4/10.
2. Living with the ghost - Its an odd one. I like the lyrics written down but I found them hard to distinguish in the mix and as a result they lose power - 5/10
3. Knockout - Something that could have been on hand with obvious similarity to WDR. Then again, I liked WDR - 7/10
4. Labour of love - Sounds like one of the mid tempo ballads that could be on burning bridges. Something I think something Jovi should be aiming to do more at this point in their career. Great mood and lyrics - 7/10
5. Born again tomorrow - Again something "HANDish" about this but more mature. Knowing what was going through jons head when he wrote this helps it be a little less cheesy - 6/10.
6. Roller coaster - I think its very fresh and I love the pacing of this song. Reminds me of the time I heard loves the only rule for the first time, excited for something different. 90s Jons voice would take this to the next level - 8/10
7. I can't figure out why Jon wrote a song about new years day. I cannot imagine the circumstances in which I'd play it (apart from that one day maybe). Very bland - 4/10
8. The devils in the temple - I just feel this song could have been a lot more, the loud repetitive riff is annoying to me but the chorus sounds great, bit off a missed opportunity - 6/10.
9. I like that Jon calls his guitar 'she', mimicking what he did in bed of roses. I also like the introspective nature. Its a bit slow but I could enjoy it live. With a slightly different arrangement wouldn't be out of place on LH - 7/10.
10. God bless this mess - Well I thought it was standard WAN tripe until I realised the lyrics "My voice is shot" and I felt a bit of respect for Jon. Still pretty boring though - 5/10.
11. Reunion - Despite its utter cheesiness and preferring the acoustic version, as a recent graduate I can just identify with it. Love "As the night ignites the day" line - 6/10
12. Come on up to our house - Like have new years day I have no idea when I would ever play this song. But I do identify with those nights out with people that you dont want to end. Also its pretty catchy. 5/10.
13. Real love - A post 2000 ballad done badly. I know Jon says he wont use a "moon, june, spoon" rhyme scheme but he ending first three lines in the chorus with "love" sounds bad to me. Also saying he wants to crawl into someones eyes is utterly bizzare - 4/10.
14. All hail the king - I find this a very interesting song, lyrically great but once again suffers a bit from the mix. Still enjoyable when you know what jon is saying - 7/10
15. We dont run - Not sure I like the new mix as much but still love the energy, lyrics and passion - 7/10
16. I will drive you home - The album standout for me. Jons low register suits this song perfectly. The loose metaphor of cars, driving and racing shows they can still do all the silly metaphors as long as it is delivered in the right way, which this is. It takes all the time it needs to develop, and its just stuck in my head - 9/10.
17 - Goodnight NY - Its like I love this town dedicated to New York. No idea why Jon wrote this unless he wants it used in tourism ads so he can make a few quid. The final nail in the coffin is that jon sings "BEEP BEEP BEEP"! - 3/10.

Overall, a solid collection of songs generally ranking between 4 and 7 out of ten. There are very few stinkers or standouts. I think the absence of richie can be noted but (with the current state he's in) the album doesn't suffer as much as it could do. It perhaps may have had better solos on a few songs but I think Jon has put something solid enough together to get through the next tour.

But you can bet your ass he won't play i will drive you home live...

Overall: 6/10. If Jon had released just 12 of 17 songs which were best he'd get a higher score but you have to take the whole collection as you first hear it really.

Imagine for a second the tracklist was as follows and you'd never heard the other 5 songs:

This House Is Not For Sale
Living with the ghost
Knockout
Labour of love
Born again tomorrow
Roller coaster
The devils in the temple
Scars on this guitar
God bless this mess
All hail the king
We don't run
I will drive you home

I think I'd give that a 7 or 8 if I wasnt aware Jon had written the other songs alongside.
