They probably used the same demo for their song.

But The Middle - Jimmy Eat World is also very similar
Jimmy Eat World - The Middle - Lyrics - YouTube

And guess what? Maybe you are thinking about different song because I will probably could give some others like this.

I don't mind i LOVE THIS SONG!
No and no, actually I didn't even know the 2 songs you posted. I'm almost certain it's a French hit song that I used to hear on the radio years ago...
You're right: many 4 chord songs sound alike -and there's nothing wrong with it! Do you know the Axis of Awesome?

Put me in the camp that loves Rollercoaster. It's a little after 4:00 a.m. here and I'm listening to the new album, that song actually, because I knew I wouldn't be able to listen at work. The conversation in my head was "If you get up you'll regret it. If you don't get up, you'll regret it."

Yes. Of course I know them and they show how many songs from U2 to Selena Gomes base on typical chords, melody ecc. But it's ok for me
If I like song it doesn't really care if it's so original or not.

For the links to the songs:

Search for "Spain Bon Jovi Facebook" on Google. It's their first post.

(Searching directly on Facebook didn't work for me)

I've kept away from the live footage, so this is my first listen for a lot of these songs...

It's a really strong record for the band, but I'm not as excited by it as most here seem to be. Better than 'What About Now' and 'The Circle' for me (I really liked most of Lost Highway - but it may overtake that following more listens). Definitely the best lyrics Jon has written for a very long time..

It's definitely an album that I will keep going back to, and I'm sure I will enjoy more the more I listen to it...

I was initially underwhelmed by the first single, but 'This House Is Not for Sale' grew on me big time. I enjoy it now. I wish the intro didn't sound so much like 'Have A Nice Day' though...

I'm not an excited by 'living with The Ghost' as most here. It could be great, I love the lyrics, but the killers/U2 style guitar tones that Shanks seems to love so much bothers me. Why can't the guitars juts sound like, oh, I don't know, Bon Jovi!? I think this will be a bit of a grower for me...Jon sounds good. Maybe I was just expecting to be blown away going by all the comments here, and my expectations were too high.

'Knockout' sounded weak as a single, but definitely works better in the context of the album. Still not much of a fan of this one though...

'Labour Of Love' I thought was great on a first listen. I hear a Springsteen vibe in places and it's nice to have a slower song with emotion again. Burning Bridges had them, but before that it had been a while...

Didn't think much to 'Born Again Tomorrow' on first listen following it's release. Like 'Knockout' it works better in the context of the album. I'm not really into the Dance-y vibe that occurs in places...quite like the solo though. Maybe my problem is that it just doesn't sound like a Bon Jovi track to me...

Not sure what to make to 'Roller Coaster' I kinda like it, but I kinda feel like it's a bit of a throwaway track. Having said that, I could hear it on the Radio...it's definitely catchy...

'New Years Day'...there's that 'Killers' guitar tone again....repetitive drum beat....Jon sounds good again. Chorus doesn't blow me away....

'The Devils In The Temple' - Love the lyrics, great verses, love this one from top to bottom! Best so far for me. It's a rock song, but it doesn't really sound like anything they've done before! Now, an album centered more around stuff like this would really get me excited!! Jon sounds brilliant, especially at the end.

'Scars On This Guitar' - I think Jon really shines on this, really suits his current voice. Another favorite of mine. I really think Richie's BV's would have sounded great on this one, singing with Jon. I think the slower stuff like this really misses his vocals, but still a great, great song! Would have liked a little acoustic guitar solo in the middle...can't believe so many here seem not to like this one!?

'God Bless This Mess' - This shouldn't be on the album. It's waaaay too similar to the title track. And there's that bloody 'Killers' guitar sound again.

'Reunion' - definitely brings to mind 'Whole Lot Of Leavin'' at times. I like the sentiment of the song, but it's just OK for me really. I think it will be another grower though...

'Come On Up To Our House' - nice end to the album (proper), I like the vibe. But not the type of song that keeps me too interested. Nice lyrics.

'Real Love' - Nice track, but definitely Blind Love part 2 (which was better).

'All Hail The King' - throwaway track for me. Still better than most of 'What About Now' though.

'We Don't Run' - Not sure about this new mix. Preferred the Burning Bridges version, but glad it's not just the same version on both records...

'I Will Drive You Home' another really nice slower song, sounds like it should end the album. Would have worked on 'Destination Anywhere'. Not sure about the vocals at the end. Sounds really out of character for the rest of the song...

'Goodnight New York' - U2 guitar sound again...think the last two song should be swapped over. Not a fan of this one. On the whole I think the Bonus tracks are right to be bonus tracks and not proper album tracks.

Best songs for me: The Devils In The Temple, Scars On this Guitar, This House is Not For Sale, Labour Of Love

Love this Album! Best overall Album since These Days. Lyrically, not vocally!

Jon's voice sounds good, on it and Live. I wonder if Jon's vocals at the end of "Devil in the temple" are doctored or real? (If they were real, gives fans hope that he could pull that off now and again!)

A classic Bon Jovi Album for the 21st century.

Sure, we all like more "Devil's in the temple's", (perhaps Jon could do a couple more) but I'm happy with this Album. As this reflects Jon's voice and this is what we will get as a album (hopefully) in the future. The past was great, but fans who criticise Jon have to accept that vocally the past isn't coming back. And THINFS reflects the present and future vocally and musical direction of Bon Jovi.

It makes me feel happy. I want to listen to it over and over and over again (which I've been doing since I got the audio from the London show and I still want more). No need to overanalyze why, when I feel a song, it's good for me. When I stop and analyze it's because the song needs something else to grab me.

If you want to dissect Rollercoaster objectively, the lyrics are just ok, the chorus is bad, it's quite poppy. But how many times a BJ song looks perfect on paper, has good lyrics, it's on the rockier side and you hear it and it just... leaves you empty? Many many many times over the last 20 years.

And then comes a simple song and blows your mind, it's nothing special but it works on every level. That's Rollercoaster

Great album! Haven't listened to every track yet, but does someone else find that the 2nd verse of Living With The Ghost sounds strange? It's almost as if the vocals were mixed too loud, i.e. they sound not only raspy, but distorted. Really annoying in an otherwise perfect track!

But I had a similar problem somewhere else, I think it was Born Again Tomorrow...

My husband said the same about the sound (because he knows I hate U2 and loves teasing me) and I wanted to murder him right there. But I have to admit it does sound very sterile for a lack of a better word. I might be wrong but I think I identified the ones where Phil played right away because they sounded more "warm" and "alive"

But I don't care what it sounds like. Stirs a deep emotion inside. The bridge gets me every time and I thought it was too heavy handed when I read the lyrics, I think it wouldn't translate too well. How wrong I was, it's just perfect. The vocals when he sings "that man was me" tear me up every time.
