Aaaanyway, back to Bon Jovi.. during this same time (o covid days) we got Luv Can, which has one of the most beautiful lyrics from Jovi's catalog...

Edit: went after that song. It wasn't written by Taylor alone. She needed someone to do it too.

Sorry to go a bit off topic here but I have to say I completely agree with you on Luv Can. Probably the most beautiful lyric by Bon Jovi. Now, having heard parts of the new album, I think Jon is continuing on that path. I see the same joy, thankfulness and appreciation of life on the new songs. I couldn’t be happier about this direction.

This made me smile, and it's a great plan.

On the contrary, I think it’s a very good idea to collaborate.

Some of the greatest Bon Jovi songs are, of course, written solely by Jon. I understand that getting a number one single in the US with BOG was important for him back then, proving everyone he could do it without an outside writer.

Yet I think the songwriting team of JB/RS/DC was out of this world in the 80’s and 90’s. Desmond brought in what was needed to make great become epic.

In my eyes, collaborating with outside songwriters never makes an artist less respectable or less convincing. It’s not a sign of weakness nor does it mean you’re not good enough on your own.

Max Martin did a great job with IML. Collaborating with him introduced Bon Jovi to a new generation of fans and greatly helped the band stay relevant in the 2000’s.

Some of the best post 2000 songs have been written with BF. And I know some on this board can’t stand John Shanks but honestly, I really appreciate his songwriting skills as well.

The list of new cowriters on Forever looks very convincing to me. And I am very eager to hear what happens when you combine Jon’s and Ed Sheeran’s songwriting skills.

I like it. I'm glad we are getting closer to the release so we can hear all of the songs!

Jeepers, it's another brilliant sounding song.

I was a bit afraid of this one because I didn't like the little bit we heard before when the chorus starts with "Tide is Rising, and I'm riding waves". But wow it goes somewhere good after that. Beautiful.

Is it just me or is Jon singing in quite a high register (relatively speaking for him now, of course)?

Has Jerry joined these boards or are you JBJ himself?

It's better than I expected, based on the 5 second promo, but again you can only judge the song only listening on it in full.
Agree. I try my best not to listen to them but i always end up hearing them.

Id also add you can only really judge a song after a period of time. You might love it day one and by day 5, 55 or 555 the novelty has worn off or vice versa.

It sounds fresh and smells like the beach. You can feel the sun, the sea, the sand, and the breeze of the wind. It is a summer song without a doubt.

Jon's voice seems rejuvenated, I feel some AI tricks on the track maybe? I don't know, whatever they did, his voice sounds great, and it doesn't sound like he's being sung by a 62-year-old guy.

Now, it's a pop song, where is the rock n roll that those reviews talk so much about? haha

Nah, it’s just me, same old Sami getting excited all over again.

But seriously , I really really like what I am hearing this time. I have a good feeling about this.

And regarding Jerry, he just posted a picture of him and Jon at the Power Station on Facebook. He had heard the entire album and said that I Wrote You a Song, Waves and one more song (can’t remember which) were his favorites.
