The similarity is the modern, radio-friendly production. With Walls they did a much better job, it actually sounds fresh whereas BAT felt very outdated.

I honestly don't think that the people who could really get offended or even feel alienated by Walls would 1.care for a sworn Democrat like Jon and 2. Connect the dots and understand what the message is and 3.give a damn

Lyrical content doesn't make or break a song for me... And this song is anything but the "Anti-Trump" song I so knew would never happen... It' just an opposing idea. Trump said black, Jon said white.

My only gripe with the song besides climbing mountains is the complete Imagine Dragon rip off. Not only with melody but with the lyrics as well... 'Lighting and Thunder" This is the first song I hope never becomes a hit to avoid a complete mockery & Jon getting sued.

On the flip side, Thunder by Imagine Dragon is currently my favorite modern song of this day which is the reason why I like Jon's cover of it.

You can’t sue over a similar phrase. Imagine Dragons wasn’t the first artist to use the phrase Lightening and Thunder in a song.

They weren't, but this song doesn't only resemble these lines, it also sounds like it could've been done by Imagine Dragons.

Walls is actually a very good song... It's got that same punch and vibe that WDR first had when it came out...

I'm surprised it's not getting more praise...

Everyone was in an uproar when Saturday Night Gave Me Sunday Morning first came out due to the Nickleback comparisons but then it settled and everyone calmed down.

Imagine Dragons isn't the only band to have this sound BTW... I think once the song settles, the song will take on its own identity just like Saturday Night did...

Considering where Jon is vocally and considering the direction of the past few albums musically, Jon took a risk and I think it paid off...

I think Walls is probably one of the best songs JBJ has wrote for a decade.

The more I listen, the more I think so too... Not so much written in terms of lyrics but just overall vibe and music.

I've learned with these past few albums that songs need to settle before I make the bold claim as "The Best Song Since....."

I said this about:

Teardrop
We Don't Run
Labor Of Love
and maybe Roller-coaster

I still think the above are great songs but maybe not as high and mighty as I first thought.

I think the Remix and Live Versions of We Don't Run ruined that song for me a little. If they just left that one alone on BB, I think it would have remained much higher for me.

When it comes to Labor Of Love and Teardrop, I think they are perfect for Jon's now voice and age. I love the live versions of Labor Of Love and Teardrop is still one of my top 3 songs since These Days.

Roller-coaster is great live but Jon's voice takes a little away from it and then you have the flip side where Jon sounds great on the studio track but the production is horrible. If they could just somehow take Jon's studio voice and put it over the live track, it would be perfect.

Back to Walls...It's very fresh and modern. It's what WDR was to me 3 years ago. It actually fits onto Burning Bridges more than it does THINFS. It's a cool, different song...

I'm still waiting on my 6 albums to come in the mail (I got shipping confirmation yesterday). Does anyone know what track number these 2 new songs are on THINFS?
