I was feeling pretty 'meh' on both songs at first, but when the chorus on Walls hit I instantly loved it, almost how I felt when We Don't Run came out, seemed so fresh and a bit gritty, and I hope it's a staple in the set list this tour. Although "This Is Love, This Is Life" was the best new song on the GH compilation it only got one play on the entire 2011 tour. Sometimes Jon's logic with making set lists is a bit baffling, but you know that already.

Well, to be honest This Is Love, This Is Life was pretty much a train wreck live which I guess is the reason it didn't got any more plays. I agree it's a fantastic song but it just didn't work out live. The same things goes for Brokenpromiseland. Cool track but watching it live it's just obvious it didn't work out.

This is Love....
Awful song thrown together but sounds legendary compared to No Apologies, More Things Change and What Do You got.
I dont think they couldve chosen 4 shitter new songs for GH2.
If any songs say this band have lost it those 4 songs said it perfectly.

Interesting how different we see on specific songs. I love all the GH songs except The More Things Change.

Yeah I share your point of view. This Is Love This Is Life rehashed basically everything the band had done since the millenium and was Jovi-by-numbers more than anything else, but it was catchy and I got hooked by the melody. No Apologies was fun and the track that worked better life than anything on the Circle or what was to follow after that.
What Do You Got? was okay-ish, midtempo and rather boring, but still didn't seem so put on as were the songs on the following album.

Oh I do agree, This Is Love was awful live. So was We Don't Run. I'm afraid Walls won't sound the greatest live either...

Funny. I think This Is Love is the closest they ever got to a classic 80s BJ song after, well, the 80s. Yeah, the production is too modern, but still, it's a classic, non political 80s style BJ song for me.

The More Things Change doesn't seem to get a lot of love on here (more like the opposite I think), yet I still like the flow of the song and the kind-of-dialogue with the record company near the end.

But I agree, both those songs didn't work live, as well as Brokenpromiseland, Happy Now, etc. The only one that did work was No Apologies, to some extent at least...

I finally voted for WWWU. I know it's a very transparent effort to create the type of sound classic fans like, I'm kind of being manipulated into liking it but... whatever. I'm not going to rationalize why I'd love a song like this one. Same as TILTIL now that it's been discussed. Great catchy tunes, fun lyrics, works for me on both accounts.

Walls is a great idea but poorly executed. It feels and falls flat. Lyrics are also very uninspiring. It's going to suck live.

On the other hand, both new songs are a welcome addition to THINFS. Now it is a good album (the regular 12 track version) if you get rid of Reunion and the other one that closes the album.

BTW if TC had all the GH tracks, even WDYG, it'd be a really solid album. TC is 60% filler.
