Although "This Is Love, This Is Life" was the best new song on the GH compilation it only got one play on the entire 2011 tour. Sometimes Jon's logic with making set lists is a bit baffling, but you know that already.
Not to mention it was originally on The Circle, but according to an interview in Japan, Jon felt it would get lost in the shuffle being an album track and deserved more spotlight... so it ended up being a track exklusive to the deluxe edition of the Greatest Hits record and was played live once.

Also, didn't the band claim they only wrote what got on the record for The Circle? Both TILTIL (well, back then called This AIN'T Love) and Saturday Night... are from these sessions, aren't they?

Yeah there was some irony to the story of TILTIL, especially since all three other GH tracks were given to radio in Germany between late 2010 and mid-2011. Just the one he had bragged about was kept away from everything.

I remember Jon saying he was disappointed (might not be the right word) the label chose What Do Ya Got as the lead single and considering it hasn't really been played since kind of makes me think it wasn't a favourite of the bands either.

...and What Do You Got as well.

Jon writes waay more than 12 songs for each album, there's still a lot of stuff from that era they keep in the vaults.

Probably the same reason why All About Loving You was basically never played.

Were the other two "new" GH tracks freshly written, by the way? I think they played No Apologies quite a bit live, seems the band liked that one.

The More Things Change was by far the worst in my opinion, but it was played on the radio quite a bit (in Austria as well it seems). Hate that voice effect and the way the intro slips into the verses.

I like The More Things Change. It's no masterpiece and filled with cliches, but the whole flows really nice, the melody is catchy and the lyrics were a great fit for a song on a Greatest Hits.

TILTIL, on the other hand, man what a turd that one was. Of all the IML clones, this was definitely the most shameless one. Absolutely no redeeming qualities on that one.

Interesting, how opinions can differ. I never thought of TILTIL as an IML clone, nor did I notice any voice effect on TMTC TILTIL for me is more of a BTTMB clone, if with a 2000 twist...

The More Things Change was written for the Greatest Hits record. There was the story about them writing it in Richie's bathroom due to its good acoustics.

It has a feeling of the nineties, the only thing I do not like is when there is a change of pace when it says "The more things change the more the stay the same, The more things change the more the stay the same" but the song is cool.
