While us and the outside world are hazy on the details of how many albums were actually sold if the ticket bundle weren't included, the band camp was sure as shit directly aware of how well the albums actually do without the facade of faux-success. It feels like people are acting like the band/label were blindsided by low numbers. Lord knows everyone was perfectly aware how small the interest the world has in new Bon Jovi music.

When all your interviews are speaking on podcasts and talking about an album you can't perform live, you're barely selling it ya know?

In all fairness, I also don't think it would've made much difference if they sang it a few times. At this point, they just don't appeal to the greater masses outside their fan base anymore. And those bought / streamed the album anyway.

Also saying Jon's mother's passing is the reason feels a bit shady. Promotion had stopped long before that.

I agree Legendary went as far as it could but let's say they did some promo shows and did Waves or Living Proof or Seeds blah blah blah. Jon not being able to sing absolutely effected what was possible promo wise. I do agree it would take a miracle or a scandal to get the common person interested in the band's new material.

I think it’s his voice. It felt like everything skidded to a halt once he realized he couldn’t back up the claim he was throwing around all spring, “I can sing.” You can’t sell a comeback story if there’s no comeback.

It just felt with this album that they made more of an effort to promote it than they had for a long time and were maybe expecting it to do better than it has. Usually if they have no confidence iof any kind of success they don’t bother with any promotion. Especially on the back of the documentary.

I think the documentary is the reason for the increased promotion. I think it makes sense form the casual fan standpoint. For example, I like RHCP, but I'm not a diehard fan; thus, I would definitely watch their introspective documentary before listening to their new album. The album almost became a footnote in the documentary and the surrounding discussions on Jon's voice and Richie's situation.

I think "comeback" single in the form of Legendary was the biggest mistake. Everyone and their friend heard it in Europe, and largely anyone just ignored it afterwards cause it's same old, same old boring middle of the road, uninspired elevator stuff. If they opened big with Living Proof, it would be a completely different story.

If RHCP parallel comes to mind, something like "Dark Necessities" was a big hit. You need a good song for a legacy rock band to leave a dent. To promote now further is probably just a waste of money from rational perspective.

To keep promoting Legendary, yes. But it's wild no one is trying anything else to get people listening to the rest of the album.

Ironically, to me anyway, Living Proof is the quintisential "same old same old". It tries so hard to be a Bon Jovi song almost to the point of beign a novelty track that sounds nothing like the rest of the album.

I agree somewhat, Living Proof is rehashed HAND meets Prayer again, but even as such, it brings more punch than anything in last several singles attempts.

Anyway, I'm still bit confused by complete silence from the band.

If I must say my deep personal opinion with no evidence, I think either is Jon depressed on a serious level and/or record company refused to back the album further. But regardless of the album, I think Jon was/is not in a good mental place last several years.

He's doing so much gruelsome vocal training, with apparently bad end results now, I hope the guy lives a bit that "joy" he always talks about. He seems miserable and frankly it worries me. I don't care about music from this perspective or band output. He has like 20 good more years, he needs to relax and enjoy, but really enjoy on an honest level with himself (I've never seen more depressed and "flat" man talking about joy before this promo cycle. It's even weirdly artistic, but worrisome)

He seemed anything but miserable for the promo he done for this album so not sure where you’re getting that from?!🤔
