Do you think you're just hearing 5 people play on the album as well?

The thing is both backing musicians and samples have become way too much, just look at Coldplay and U2. I prefer it when it’s just them; I actually watched a bit of a Coldplay instagram concert this morning and at least ‘Magic’ was just them 4.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but Jovi, up until the Bounce tour and using lots of samples and loops live, was just the 5 guys. Metallica is and always has been just the Four Horsemen (bar a few samples).

That’s what rock is supposed to be about: 4 or 5 guys playing their stuff. Call me old fashioned, but that’s how it should be and it’s definitely how Bon Jovi sounded better.
