yes we all know they willl.....but does it help to make people even more scared frightened then they are. It`s useless to make people constantly watch over their shoulders.
It makes people too suspiciuos and because of that the world less nicer to live in

Yes, because it gives them an excuse to reduce basic rights even more & no-one is going to complain, because they are scared. Scared of what? There is more chance of being run over by a car.

The above article though was more an indictment of the current failure of the war against terror.

It is better to know what is going on than to live in la la land. Plus, you should look over your shoulders, because you never know. The world is already a "less nicer" place to live in. It has been for a very long time.

If you don't want to waste your time being scared, that is fine, but I don't blame people who are. An attack will happen again. Of course nobody knows when or where, but I don't doubt that this time will even be worse.

It's a catch 22 situation. If the government doesn't let people know about a possible attack, they're criticized for not keeping the public informed. Case in point, the 911 commission. IMO, a waste of time and money for the sake of political grand standing.

Terrorist attacks will happen again in this country. Its just a matter of time. Superficial attempts to control it, like taking away toenail clippers, knitting needles, and strip-searching senators before people can board a flight will just waste money. I could strap an ABS bowie knife ($4.95 at the mall) to my thigh and walk through airport security without a hitch. Its time to call it a day.

Government control in airport security and homeland security (like everything else) is a perfect model of inefficiency. For all the intrusive security measures they had at the airports prior to 9/11, how many stopped the hijackers that day? Did 1 in 5 terrorist hijackers lie bleeding in a terminal on 9/11? Surely a 20% success rate, while not a passing grade, is something to be proud of? Did we get 1 in 6? We didn't even get 1 out of 10! If you get 1 out of 10 questions right on a school test, its called failing. If you show up for work 1 day out of 10, or do 1 out 10 assignments at your job, you get fired. And they couldn't get 1 out 19! But it seems the prevailing theory of the day is: If it didn't work yesterday, and it didn't work last year, or the year before that, instead of changing, lets do it again this year, more if possible.

We all need to decide, right now, since there WILL be more terrorist attacks, if in addition to damaging our buildings and killing our citizens, if we'll let them kill our way of life. Are we willing to let the terrorists take away our freedom? If so, if we really think we can trade freedom for safety, they've won and rightly so, cause if we give it up so easily, we don't deserve that libery in the first place.

I'm not going to let it bother me in any way or form but I think that's a pretty good idea with regards to rounding up and executing one of their families.

Brutal but it'll work.

Shame Britain and the US are too civilised to do it but I have no doubt whatsoever that someone in the Muiddle East will do it sooner or later.

I don't quite see how us executing someone's family can make him or her change their mind on the hatred felt towards us.

It won't stop the hatred but nothign will.

But it'll make people who are wanting to join up with the arseholes think a little harder before they do.
