u dont think it will encourage them even more to join in and plan more terrorost attacks? i think so..

it's a sad thing, but i have to agree that more attacks r very likely to hapen soon.. where and how?..that's anyone's guess

i'm tired of turning on the tv and just seeing death and war everywhere.. here watching the news and seeing how because of heavy rain last weekend over 350 ppl r dead (over 300 missing) in my country, and over 1500 dead in Haiti cause of floods too..i mean i cannot grasp WHY anyone would cause devastation to families and innocent ppl on purpose..human nature is just destructive IMO

if you were wanting to join somethign like that you could easilly without much thought.

now if there's a chance that your family will be rounded up and shot as a result of you joining it then you'll be abit more apprehensive about picking up a gun for the cause.

It won't deter anybody, it'll just cause more attacks. You execute a man's family, now not only are you a terrorist, but he's got nothing to lose. I know what I'd do in that situation.

nope i'm 100% behidn the idea that it will deter NEW recruits.

I know a handful of people who were part of certain organisations during the troubles over in ulster. now they all signed up freely but nowhere near as many of them would have if they knew there was a chance their family would be rounded up and shot if it was found out that they were members.

the problem is that we're trying to be civil to uncivilised people. we wont deport abu hamza to the staes if he's to face the death penalty whereas he's got his hands in alot of nasty things and diregards our very way of life.

Fine, lets not be civilized to the uncivilized people. I've got no problem with that. You want to round up a lynching party and seek out Osama for a little personalized .357 retribution, fine. Don't force me to be a part of murdering innocent people through taxes. I don't want to have any part in your bloodlust.

Criminals deserve trials, in order to prove their guilt or innocence. That's one of the most honorable, defining things about civilization. To round up and kill innocent people on the notion that "well, it MIGHT stop a few people from joining" is lowering yourself to the level of the animals you'd fight.

they're not going to care 1 way or the other wether we're just or fair with them.

If we give up our humanity to fight an enemy bent on destroying us, we become them. We become what we hate.

I will admit, sometimes in war, civilians die. Sometimes its inevitable, sometimes its required so that more do not die later. But those situations are avoided at all costs. We have not reached the point yet where we need to abandon what makes us the "good guys" in order to win. Our survival does not yet depend on killing innocent people.
