I've talked about this novel in a few of my previous posts, so I won't go on too much (plus the Sopranoes is jsut about to start), but it's one of my favourites.... probably my favourite novel!!!!!!

The three sections are just absolutely stunning, just when you think you've got it sused, just when you think you know where it is going, what it is saying it changes completely....

Plus, by the end of it, you're reading it slightly in double speek.... wierd!!!!

Oh god, flashbacks to my honors history class. In the matter of 9 weeks we had to read 8 utopian/anti-utopian novels and those were two of the last three. We were supposed to do a paper every week on whichever book which discussed the book, the life of the author, the entire history of the world at the time the book was written and how the book related to the history of the world. He let us combine the last three. My final paper was 43 pages single space typed. I LIVED in the library. I've hated libraries ever since. LOL I think the other of the last three was called Looking Backward, but I'm not sure. The main female character was named Edith. I've blocked out the author's name, but it was a good book. It was the only one I really really enjoyed.

BTW, our final for that class was part essay on questions about the books/history and part "Write your own anti-utopia." We started around 1:00 and the professor said he'd bring us pizza at 6:00 PM. He didn't, but we were all still there writing at 6:00. In my anti-utopia Bon Jovi took over the world (under assumed names). Someone else based theirs on our class and accused me and the other girl who were getting A's of sleeping with the teacher. More than one person based the evil ruler of the world on our professor.

I also read "Brave new world" and "1984"! I liked both of them very much, but Brave New World the most!! The books were very impressing, the world and the life of the people in the books.... aaaaahhhh!!! And it 's a bit frightening to see, that some things which have been described in these books many years ago, have now come true....
The book "Fahrenheit 451" is also similar to this both (but not so good, I think!).
