1.Huh.
2.I'd like to kick both her and the father in the crotch for doing something so stupid that could do any sort of damage to the PRESIDENTIAL campaign for the supposed "family values" party.
3.The Democrats won't be able to attack her for having a child out of wedlock, that's like 3/4 of their voter base, so they can't really say anything about it. hahahaha

Adrian
1. what d'ya know it's not all hillbillys and gangbangers that wind up preggers underage.
2. i'm pretty sure what the gop get up to or how their behaviour may affect it isn't high on their list of priorities, and it shouldn't be either.
3. i thought democrats just killed all the babies?

as i said n another thread, you've got a major hard on for mccain and the gop these days considering you allegedly see bush as a traitor and are a libertarian.

1.Bristol Palin is not underage for Alaska. And from a theoretical standpoint, I really do not care about her pregnancy.
2.It should be on their list of priorities. Her behavior in private affects her mother, which affects McCain. And I have to think at least partly that if Sarah Palin can't raise her daughter to do something profoundly simple and right, she may not be a good choice for VP.
3.Democrats only kill babies when it'd be inconvenient to keep them. Besides, they want to have a lock on that crying and whining thing.

I'm very libertarian. You'd be hard pressed to find someone more freedom oriented than me. It's not that I love John McCain or the GOP, it's that they're the best choice I've got right now. I wish BHO and the Democrat party knew how much I hated them, it'd keep them up at night.

It's one of those 'wtf' moments.

I realize she is rather popular in AK, but that doesn't mean all too much. Alaska is a much different place from the rest of the country and ones success among moose hunters and hummer drivers doesn't necessarily translate to the prius driving vegetarians throughout the rest of the country.

Partly the reason of why she was picked is because she is a woman and all the Hillary supporters should now identify with Palin. This is BS and a prime example of how McCain doesn't get the first thing about the people in the US and/or women.

I doubt the majority of women identify with a moose hunting, hockey mom w/ 5 kids, and a journalism degree from the university of freaking idaho!!

As for VP, I don't want a hockey mom! No shit. No offense to hockey moms, but I know too many of them and I wouldn't want any of them running my country or actively participating in running it.

Her speech of the cracked ceiling and how she'll be finally breaking through makes me want to gag. If McCain/Palin wins the presidency, it will have nothing to do with Palin's own effort, but everything with what McCain thought she was bringing to the ticket. McCain had met her once several months ago (which is pretty telling by itself) and picked her because she will (hopefully) attract new voters and will not interfere whatsoever in his politics. If she breaks through that glass ceiling, it is because someone opened a window, not because she smashed it!!

Besides, her voice annoys the hell out of me.

Also, I find your comments with respect to democrats and abortion despicable. You are christian, aren't you? You think your god supports those words? Your ignorance and intolerance disgust me.

Seems to me the daughter did something profoundly simple exactly right.

Yet you put the blame on the Palins, rather than on McCain's cynical, patronising decision making?

And do take a minute to consider here that he has placed his entire campaign in the hands of 17 year old girl. If she made the perfectly understandable and legal choice to abort, there would be no coming back.

Just beyond parody.

Half a ****ing minute after you implied Sarah Palin should place a chastity belt on her daughter.

I'm sure they'd be very concerned. I know I'm starting to be.

If it's wrong and harmful to have a baby at 17, you should at least pretend to care an inch. Just a tiny little bit. Like, I don't know. Maybe advocating birth control.

If it's not, you should shut the **** up.

Jim:I hate the Democrat party and their current figurehead BHO because they want to control me to a much greater extent than the Republicans.

A free country is one where anyone can do whatever they please so long as they do not cause harm to an innocent person. Obviously we disagree, and I'm not getting into the victim disarmament argument here.

I really need to get myself a "Why So Serious?" pic. Do y'all take everything I say SO seriously that I can't crack a joke w/o it getting analyzed to death? You obviously didn't read the part where I started off talking about the pregnancy with the words "Before y'all jump on me, there is some sarcasm here."

BeExcellent:As a Christian, while I oppose Bristol Palin's decision to have premarital sex, I absolutely support her decision to keep the child and marry the father. The idiotic and wrong decision she made was jumping into bed and/or failing to use birth control or use it properly.

You seem to infer that I do not, but I abso-freaking-lutely LOVE the idea of people using birth control. It's no substitute for good parenting and good decision making however, and I really do think that Sarah Palin should've taught her daughter to make better choices. Does that mean I think Bristol should be chained to a wall in a monestary? Absolutely not. Do I think she should realize the effects her decisions may have on a national political scale, and think about those decisions in that light? Absolutely.

In an abstract way, I care that she made a tremendous and tremendously poor decision that will affect the rest of her life. Also in an abstract way, I realize that it is her and her family's problem, and not mine. I'll never meet her, there's no way for me to "care" as is traditionally defined.

Adrian

sorry adrian but shotgun weddings for 17 year olds is never a good idea regardless of how "moralistic" the intent may be.

and i'd say your civil liberties have been eroded pretty spectacularly over the past ooooooooh 7 or so years give or take 5 or 6 weeks yet you're perfectly happy to vote for someone who will drag you further down that path?

and as a final aside, you think someone who by your own admission didn't do a very good job of being a parent should be the 2nd most powerful person in the world?

in fact someone with 5 kids in the so called party of family values going for such a demanding and time consuming job is an example of living breathing irony.
