Default 3 match ban for lama Totti

totti received a 3 match ban for spitting danish player poulsen in the face- this means that he could play the earliest in the semifinals which italy hopefully won't reach
imo it serves him double time right ( ) for his crazy attack towards the end of match for which every normal referee would have sent him off...

i agree with that. a two match ban would also have done it, one for the spitting and one for the attack. trappatoni (sp?) will get some problems, i remember him saying in an interview that he would have to change the whole team if totti fell out....

well, we've seen that quite often before, haven't we?
and i don't think that a player ever got a three games ban for that before.
not that i don't think it's ok...

well he should have been banned for rest of the tournament. who knows if it was some "lesser" player, how long would ban be? or, would there be a ban at all...?

It's bloody disgusting. A ban for the rest of the tornement would be the minimum punishment I'd say. What sort of example does it set for the kids that consider him to be like a god?

If I was the boss of our National Football Federation I would have put him on the first flight back to Italy. You just can't behave that way!! Totti should be a professional player, he fisrt represents Italy in a tournament like this.
He should feel ashamed for that! Shut up and go home Totti!!
The more I think of it the more I get angry.

so it looks like I'm the only person who thinks that this whole thing is a complete over reaction!

Not that I'm saying it's right what he's done, but I think you see much worse in almost all games so far.

I personally think a player who takes a dive, then rolls about on the floor holding a part of his body that hasn't even been touched, untill the ref gives a free kick and a card to the other team then gets to his feet like nothing is wrong with him is much much worse. I'd sooner see players banned for intensionally trying to con the ref, and get another player who has done nothing wrong, sent off. It's disgraceful, you only have to see that poor excuse for a human being Deco play to see things are wrong.

Totti was wrong, but he was actions were not something he went out on the pitch with the intension to do, he didn't play it, and as he said after it's not hte 'real tottie'. It was heat of the moment so is excusable, even if it was stupid, and deserved to be punished. Against those people like Deco, who go out with the intension of cheeting are the ones who should be recieving bans!!!!!!

Plus I'm upset because he was one of the big players to watch, now even if they get to the semi's he's going to have no real impact
