I wouldn't just place the US there. Most developed countries are to blame for the 'lack of space' for developing countries.

I know, I know... it's a joke. Though they are the most developed country so the easiest target...

I thought it was a good cartoon.

We should make a thread for these newspaper cartoons... would be fun to se some of the humour from all over the world.

I liked the cartoon. Only I thought it was a little unfair. Mind you, I'm the first sometimes to lay the blame for most bad things at their door So perhaps my comment sprang from a guilty conscience.

I love the thread you have created. We will be seeing some good cartoons there.

Define "the most developed country".

Countries with high gross domestic product (GDP) per capita often fit the previous description of a developed economy."

The most.

I was aiming at that you called the US for the MOST developed country.

And of course according to those parameters USA comes very high up on the list. But, we also know, especially if you have some understanding regarding economic flows and development, that those figures mostly don’t provide the clearest and most reliable picture.

If you put in factors such as political development and individual freedom (factors that clearly are more relevant to the modern welfare society) I wouldn't call the US the most developed country.

Yes. The country (or region) that controls the world production is significantly the most important country when it comes to economics.

The US is aware of this, and you can see that on the institutional and structural change in US society.
