a guy i gigged with is going on fame academy

totally forgot all about this but i was reading the news of the world on sunday and came across an article about a guy whos doing a bit part on river city (really cheap and nasty soap set just outside glasgow. it;s even worse than it sounds)

so i read more of it and it says the guys from blantyre and i think cool thats 5 minutes up the road from here, i go to the gym there, know a couple of bands from there and a mate from college stays there and then i read a little further and it said his band name and realised i'd played with his band at king tuts last year. they were all sound and a great band too.

not really my thing but good luck to the guy.

I think fame acadamy will be more popular than pop idol this time around. At least on FA they do at least write their own songs. Look forward to seeing him on the show Jim, as long as ihe's not another David Sneddon

can i just for the record say that david sneddon comes from paisley which is just outside Glasgow.

i shudder at the thought of people thinking he's a glaswegian.

i mean presenting us just now we've got darius, federico from BB and davie sneddon. people will start to mistake glasgow for edinburgh

Sorry i thought you meant Scotland. My sisters friend knew Darius from Uni, apparently he had his head up his own arse and that was before he got famous.

yeah the singing teacher that done lessons in my school gave darius lessons. one of my mates that went to her outside school for lessons met him a couple of times and said he was ok but he's one of these camp show tune kinda guys too u know.

he was supposed to be coming to the school to do a show or something and he had photo of him stuck up in the music department with "hi to all my new friends at cathkin, can;t wait to meet u all love darius"

i just thoughtthink i'll have a wee day off when he's in.

Well I do find the guy a bit cheesy and annoying, but I think out of the Pop Stars and Pop Idol people who released anything he is by far the most talented of them all.
